Well, it's a beautiful morning here, my new bungalow is finally finished and looking GOOD! Had a lovely long chat with Laura yesterday (it was her birthday) during which she told me , that she and two other friends received an invitation some time ago to the Queen's Garden Party which is today!!! She swore blind that she had already told me, but if she did I can't remember! Anyhow they're going up to London on the train and so it's doubly good that it's a fine day! Not only that my cousin, who is a Vicar is also going today which is a complete coincidence! so as you can imagine much texting and mobile phoning weill be going on in order for them to meet up. I can't wait to hear all about it, who was weraring what and who met who!! Laura has had an invite as she and her friends were allocated lottery funding for setting up a Gym Club in a derelict old warehouse in Newbury for disabled and dissadvantaged young people as well as for able bodied youngsters, it's been a mamoth undertaking so all credit to them. My Vicar cousin runs a very difficult Parish, so presumably that's why he and his family are off to the Palace!! I. however, am planning a day gardening, Mark's coming over later to help OH with some plumbing and generally make sure that we are OK, bearing in mind, as he puts it, our great age and decrepitude!!

Morning everyone, Dinner nearly ready so short and sweet.

Sheila sorry you are still having trouble with your leg. It is has been going on for quite a while now. Hope the physio will give you some relief.

Fiona sorry to hear about the losses, your friend's dad and your uncle. I hope he didn't suffer too much.

So terrible to lose Robin Gibb. They used to live near us in Aus. Robin kissed my friend one day, as a matter of fact all the Gibb boys used to give out kisses to the girls at my school. We used to see them driving around in their orange Combi. I will always love their music and treasure those memories.

Jane I would be interested to know which connective tissue disease that nurse has, if Chris knows. Just that I have it all through my family (various forms) and my mum died of Scleroderma. Glad that you had some quality time with Janice too. Sorry to read about the clot - lucky it was found. Someone is looking after Fitz.

Cold mornings here, but still plenty of sunshine and temps. around 22.

LilyL I am on 2 other threads and some have been removed, goodness knows why. Are they so twitchy these days?? Getting a bit ridiculous and people should be warned or told what the offending post or part thereof was. :-| :-|

Off to have my dinner now. Take care and hope the sun is shining where you are. 6.20 pm EST

Morning /Evening everyone
Well this is more like it .....Wall to wall sunshine.Lovely :-D :-D

Liz what a perfect day for a Garden Party at the Palace.I hope Laura has a great time today.

Kim I'm not sure Chris knows exactly what type of C T Disease the nurse has.I have a feeling she has been sent to Hospital further away that specialises in that field.

I have a Chicken cooking at the moment and then a Ham will be going in.My tummy is rumbling lol,and Chester is lying looking at the oven making the most ridiculous and annoying noises :-S :-S.

Ann will be having a great time ,especially if she is having this sun too :-D :-D

Thanks Jane. I'm really pleased for her as they've worked SO hard, and it's nice to have it recognised. We were going to 'Ikea' today, but as Mark said he'd come over,we have postponed that till tomorrow. Your poor Nurse lady, it must be so frightening not knowing what is wrong, lets hope she doesn't have to long to wait for her results. I agree Kim, I also think that if anyone writes something that causes offence, that person should be informed and given a chance to rectify whatever it is and not just have it arbitrately removed, but there you go,we all just have to be careful!!

Morning from the SHORTS PERSON.

Here I sit bare chested, in a pair of shorts, ready to go into the garden. Have got a few jobs to do, nothing to energetic as I did too much yesterday, and have my temper swings back.

Fortunately Ros is out for the day with Carolyn, so I can have a curse and swear to myself, without upsetting anyone.. Keep saying I must go back to Docs about it, but it goes off. and I leave it again.

Wall to Wall sunshine here also Jane.

Sheep SH#T pie for us tonight, with fresh cabbage. Bread and Butter pudding for afters. I am only making small ones, as it normally gets given away or thrown away. I hate to waste food.

Liz, I am sure your daughtwer will have a lovely time at the palace.

Have you seen the price some of these Olympic tourches are making.??? I think if they are sold for charity GREAT. but if for personal gain. THEY SHOULDN'T BE ALOUD to sell them. Can't they just be proud that they have had the honour to carry the tourch. Some people would sell their Grandmothers. ANYONE WANT TO BUY MY WIFE <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Builder phoned. coming on Thursday now, The digger they were going to use has been double booked and won't be available till tomorrow afternoon, no point starting in the afternoon, also the builder will have to pay a whole days money even though it's only around for 1/2 a day, so they will come on Thursday morning now.

Hi from the LOBSTER MAN,

Did a few jobs around the garden, and potted up some more little hanging baskets for the "Blue tree" Had a sit and read in the sun.

Have prepared the shepherds pie and B & B pudding, been back in the garden for a little while.

Had an e-mail from a company I use to send Ros's Godmother flowers for birthdays and Christmas. She phoned last night to say she had received the flowers for her birthday YESTERDAY Her Birthday was last Friday. She said the flowers were very limp and looked like they had been lying around all weekend. I contacted them last night, and today they said, they can either send another flower display or refund me with vouchers.

I said It's bad enough that they were late, and there was no point in sending more flowers now. :-| :-| :-| so send me the vouchers, i'll use those for other goods.

Going for another sit, before madam comes home.

"I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY OFFERS FOR HER YET" :-D :-D :-D :-D

Happy Birthday young Jake. What a great day for a birthday party <3 <3

Pat I need to defuzz my legs before I dare show them off to the world :-S :-SI think it is a job for the morning :-)
I knew Frank you would be topless and in those shorts ;-) ;-)

My thumbs, wrists and one shoulder have been killing today.I'm pretty sure that the heat makes my arthritis worse. Is anyone else the same?I think it may just be a just sheet on top tonight.Upstairs feels like an oven :-SI have drawn the bedroom curtains ,and the fan is still in there from last year. But that will need a good clean before I turn that one on ,otherwise I will get showered with dust :-S :-S.I never got around to covering it up.
It think it must be a High Pollen count today.James even said he could smell it and he doesn't have a great sense of smell.

Chester is flopped out on the floor bless him.....when to think we had the heating on the day before yesterday and now we are scorching lol

Jane

Jane Report 22 May 2012 18:30

LOL Frank .It must mean you are meant to keep her :-D :-D.I doubt there would be any offers on me either lol.
I remember one Mothers Day I sent a bouquet including vase to Mum when she was in the Care Home.Ordered from M&*.I had a phone call from the home's manager to say the package had arrived (it was a box). She decided to open it and then take the flowers to Mum ,but when she did there just a vase ........NO FLOWERS.That would have very disappointing had Mum opened up the box herself. So The manager sent one of the carers to the local flowers shop to fill the vase.
How bad of M&* to do that.I did get a full refund. But the reply I got from the girl on the phone when I rang to complain was "Oh They must have run out of flowers" !!!!!!!!,so just sent an empty vase :-S

I was just about to take another photo of the Earless Wonder as the patio door is open and I would have got a clear shot from here on the settee. But Chester barked at something and it shot off into the hedge.Hopefully it will be back shortly.

Oh my word have just seen it will be even hotter tomorrow
:-D

Back from shopping and unpacked.

Still had my red Hardy's Crest at £4.99instead of £10 somethinng so bought three more bottles as sister in law coming sown for bank holiday weekend and other sister in law coming on Sunday with hubby, daughter Stephanie and daughter Elizabeth who I have never met before!!

Fiona shame you don't live near us as you could have borrowed our digger!! I think you would be best to stay on the paracetomol as they usually help with a cold anyway. I can only take those as I am on asprin and betablockers I can't have any of the Lem sips etc.

Come over cloudy here now but still warm.

While I was just starting to unload the shopping I looked out the window and the two big wood pigeons were both in the bird bath so I reached for the camera and turmned it on raised it to the window and they both flew off.

William Report 22 May 2012 19:45

Any of you remember when I used to post tales of the Big Bad Cat on here! Well, he's been biding his time and he's back, more crafty and vindictive than ever.

I bought a new mini-greenhouse to get my plants started. The old one was a bit the worse for ware but as it was bigger than the new one I thought it would do to use as covered staging. So I moved it in front of the shed, just the job. Yesterday I went to put something in and and I thought "Hello, what's going on here?" There was a hole in the top! The plastic was like something you'd see in a cartoon, cut four ways like an envelope opening. I scratched my head, peeped inside but couldn't see anything heavy that shouldn't be there, then the penny dropped. It must have been BBC jumping off the roof of the shed thinking he had a good landing site before hitting the ground. I think he got a surprise when he went right through it. The metal cross bar was off and inside so I reckon that scared him when it sprang up.
So now I've got a patched up, second hand, cat-mauled semi greenhouse. He probably watched me erect it and though, hmm, I'll have some fun with old grumpy here.....

Enjoy the nice weather, catch you all soon

Oh William, What a bugg##,It just shows what memories they have. He's getting his own back on you, for the way you treated him earlier in the year !!!

Jane, Don't you start complaining about the weather. I'm sitting here burning, conservatory door wide open as are the windows, and in the bedroom. The sun sets on our back, so it stays warm till late.

The Lilac in the back garden is in full bloom and smells lovely and the garden is looking a treat. I will go and sit on the Patio with a beer soon.

Ros is watching her "HOLBY" so I have a bit of time to fill, before I watch any Tele.

Mel, the forcast said it would be dull down your way this afternoon. But tomorrow will be sunny, The South West and Wales should be upto 24 degrees. I bet that RED won't last long, with all the company.!!!!

Glad to hear Liz is ready to settle in to her new home, I am sure I speak fotrall of us. GOOD LUCK AND A HAPPY LIFE TO LIZ AND IAN IN YOUR NEW HOME.

Shirl, Make sure you keep those seeds watered and sheltered from all the heat you are expecting. I know you are no"green fingers" :-D :-D

Thank you Frank and all for your good wishes. It's been a long, sometimes traumatic road but we are finally there!! The elec is on and I've been able to move the Freezer and Fridge Freezer into the house - hooray!! Plumbing today went very well, just the kitchen sink and bathroom basin to put in and that will be done. Waiting now for the carpet to be laid, not till next week, but once that is done we can, finally, MOVE IN! :-D :-D :-D
