I met my first husband on Roman Road Market east London. I was a Saturday girl and worked in a shop that sold everything from a pair of socks to shirts, towels etc. the owners were Jewish and a few eeks llater my husband to be joined us and he worked out in the street managing two stalls.
He invited me out and at forst I said " no", I was very shy in those days but eventually I went to a party with him. We didn't get engaged or marry for another 7 years, we were simply friends for about 4 years and then we we both studying.

We were married for 23 years and the very sadly divorced, and I really believed I would never marry again. ( I still think of him every day, and we are friendly when we meet, BUT we were rash and did not have any advice)

Then the cousin of my former OH who had been divorced for many years and who had his children living with him asked me out for a drink, our children came as well so 2 adults and 5 children all wnet out tigether, other two older children had already left home.

We married 2 months later and in July this year we will have been married for 17years.

Our parents said it wouldn't last more than 6 weeks,

I was talking to this lady who was/is on here, and I was talking to other people on other family history sites too. About family history before anybody jumps the gun. lol
It was not until a friend who I also talked too , said come round for some tea. (and I did go for tea) She said to me, You and Eeyore would get on ever so well if one of you was to meet the other, and also told me the person I was talking too on the other site was infact the same person as the one on here. With that this friend got hold of Eeyore on the Web cam and told us both to talk. We did infact we ended up takeing over my friends computer for about 3 hours. lol After that we talked a lot on our own computers and on the phone. Again my friend thought it would be good to do some matchmaking. So said to us both many times ( will you two just stop messing about and meet up). one day I got on a train and I went to see her, and guess what...

keep going

I never went home. I stayed here and we are to be married.

That said I would like to say one other thing.

Thank you Friend from us both.

You see this site can change peoples life in a way you might not think of.

I was a teacher and he was one of my students.

It was not quite as bad as it sounds though as we were both 35 at the time.

I met my husband at a dance. He asked my best friend to dance which she did and then when he asked her again she said no. So he asked me:-)) We married 12 months later - I was 19 and OH was 23. Some people doubted it would last but we've been married 38 years this year.

I met my husband when I worked the summer at his fathers hotel whilst on summer break in 1986. It was awkward at first because he was the boss's son and everyone accused me of going out with him for this reason. His father told me he wouldn't get a penny as he thought I was only going out with him because he was his son. Six months after we started going out we got married. We married six weeks after making the decision. We didn't tell his father we asked his mother to. He wasn't very pleased more because we hadn't told him and he heard it from his mother. We phoned my parents and he asked my father for his blessing. Lived miles apart. My father asked if he was sure as I had expensive tastes. We have been married 24 years now. Only 1 more year and I will be up for parole lol

His mutts liked me too...but that may have been to do with the bonios I had in my bag which I used to slip them lolololol.

My old girl adored him..right from the start..but when push came to shove...if he asked her (and you had to say please with her I kid you not !!) to do something ..she'd look to me first as if to say * do I have to* lol xx

I had been going out with a Marine for a long time when I met my OH.He (the Marine) was on a 3 month thing away in Norway at the time.I have to say I had to do a Dear John letter,to say it was off as I had met someone else.I still feel guilty to this day for doing that. But I know I made the right choice.
