For those who think Ancestry should compensate us :

Our system shows that you logged in to Ancestry.co.uk on Wednesday, May 19th, so you’re probably aware that we experienced a technical issue with our family trees system that day.

We have now resolved the issue and we are sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused you. The family tree system is now back to normal and ready for you to use.

As a small gesture of our appreciation for your patience and understanding, we're adding one day to your subscription length. This change will take effect over the next few days.

Thank you for your continuing membership.

Kind regards,
The Ancestry.co.uk Team

In my e-mails this morning

On facebook yesterday Ancestry stated they had found a bug in the members trees and had to perform unscheduled maintenance which they apologised for.

Below is their latest posting on Facebook.

We are happy to report that the Ancestry Member Trees are now functioning again. The solution took much longer than we and many of you would have liked, but we believe the problems have been resolved. Again, we truly value your patience as we worked through these issues. Happy tree climbing!

Marie.
My grandfather suddenly disappeared from my tree last week. Tried to re enter him, but Ancestry was showing him as a new person & wouldn´t link him with either my father or my g grandfather. If I take the family off altogether I lose the link with my grandmother & would eventually have to remove about 500 people & re input them. Ancestry says if I just re input him as my father´s father he will be re linked. Tried that numerous times last week to no avail. When I got Ancestry´s reply yesterday thought I would give it another go.
Can´t access my tree. !!!

If you go into the Ancestry Blog you will see the feedback from lots of disgruntled Ancestry users. Evidently the search option is still available but the trees have been quarantined pending resolution of a technical problem. They have mentioned several times that the trees are safe. I wonder what is the problem. Looks like it will be unavailable for a while. As for refunds etc I would not hold my breath but it must be frustrating for those on the two weeks free trial.

Wrote to them on Saturday about a problem with my tree. Got a reply this morning, suggesting a solution. It was what I had been trying to do for days, but thought I would give it another shot.
