From the news currently on tv it looks like Clegg has made a pact with Cameron.

It's certainly looking that way isn't it. It's likely that Gordon Brown is resigning tonight, or at the latest tomorrow morning.


Strangely enough, I was in the employment agency this morning and they said they had had nothing new since Wednesday of last week. It seems the whole business world is on hold until this political situation is resolved one way or the other, and they are not advertising vacancies for now.

I wonder if the LibDems will sink without trace at the next election.

Lots of people tactically vote for them to keep the Tories out. This will be seen by many as a betrayal.

It may be, but I see it that Nick Clegg has played his hand brilliantly. There had to be a deal to form a majority government, and Clegg was the one to deal with. He was also aware that the country wanted Brown, if not Labour, out, so he forced Brown's hand too, and predictable talks with Labour collapsed today.

I don't know how long it would work for, but hopefully at least until the budget.

We can only wait and see Teresa.

We don't know they haven't yet Lesley. But whatever, PR is NOT the most pressing issue in the country at the moment, economic stability is, and national security are the pressing issues, and it is those they need to agree on.

The conservatives would never agree to PR per se, and the libs will know that, but they may agree to 'discuss' it, or some other form of electoral reform, and that may be enough to complete the agreement and form a coalition.

Remember, PR will not be good for the tories, simply because of the way their 'safe' constituencies are laid out. First past the post suits them, as much at PR suits the liberals.

Well, Gordon and his family have just left No 10 for the last time. He has resigned.

Just about to watch it.

He's at Buck House, and Cameron is on his way there apparently. I missed the speech, OH put Emmerdale on grrr lol

Parts of it were very touching, TW... and I don't like him, as you know... but even I was a little bit teary... he was very sweet about his family.
