I have just seen a news item on BBC news about some unusual and picturesque polling stations around the country, with a castle for one, and a pub for another. Apparently, it's very quiet in the pub at the moment but traditionally it gets busy after about 7.00pm, when voters cast their vote then stay behind for a couple of hours in the bar. |

Are some of these in older historic buildings though? I like the Friends meeting house, if it's anything like the one here in Norwich, it'll be a lovely place. |

I think the turnout is good this year. In the Euro election, which took a lot of protest votes, I was on my own in the polling station, no sign of anyone else, and yet they reckoned they had had the highest turnout! |

Just been watching on the local news that some people gave up their living rooms for the day, and there is even a polling station set up in a little caravan! |
