Rosie,

2002 one brother died, 2004, another brother, then another brother then my sister all within a few months.

Cos I am the last one left it still feels so not right.

I have to deal with that and then in September it's the anniversary of my sister's death. I also have to support my sister in law and brother in law and it's damn hard when I am trying to keep it together myself.

(((((hug))))

It is Sue but because they were married to my siblings I guess I feel they are probably hurting more than me and I have to support them and shove my feelings to one side. Although to be harsh they only lost one person I lost them all.

Everyone hurts in different ways, I had an spectacular breakdown but now just withdraw into the self protective shell every now and again. That even excludes hubby because he gets upset if I am.

Rosie you aren't alone, neither is anyone else on here. That's one of the positive things about GR.

Not easy when a little black cloud is hovering over your head though is it. ((((((hugs))))) for you.

Awful when we are feeling so down isn't it ,
l certainly know how it is to feel so down, the last couple of days l've done nothing but cry..............why ?????
Is it because the life l knew has now gone, at least my OH survived his accident but God these last few months have been hell, is it because my Mum has cancer and there is no treatment for her, is it because..........l could go on and on but some things are private and l would soon bore you all, lol.
But hey l pick my self up and carry on when l've had my few down days , ( must feel a bit better today, l'm posting on here, lol)
Rosie do feel for you today, hope you get through things and isn't it good that people like me and you get so much support on here, these people have been my life line the last few months , x

Have a read of this. You can ignore the references to God if you like, but it is still thought provoking and strangely comforting.

Life and the Coffee Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the coffee jar and 2 cups of coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty coffee jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, " I want you to recognise that this jar represents your life."

The golf balls are the important things - your God, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness."

"Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled, "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Mac - stop being such an attention seeker!

Rosie Posie - most people can cope with two major things happening at the same sort of time, and a lot of people can cope with three things. More than three and we'd all struggle. If you can't prioritise then your best bet is to just ride the storm. Eat properly, try and get plenty of sleep, talk to anyone who will listen about one or more of the things going on and wait for one or more of the things to pass. It will get easier but you may have to be a bit patient.

Buy some flowers for your mum and put them in a sunny window. It's what I do for mum and dad on their birthdays and it helps a little bit.

Take care

Jill
