Interesting interview with Keeley Hawes.....couple of paragraphs jumped out at me....

“It’s a very, very nice eight minute goodbye. Which hopefully is long enough for anybody. It’s a beautifully written scene, the big scene. I think we did our bit. But, ultimately, it’s all in the writing with Ashes. Matthew (Graham) and Ashley (Pharoah) have done some of their best work ever on the last two episodes.”

Some fans have been concerned about what they see as the lack of “Galex” in this final series - the potential romantic relationship between “Bolly” and Gene, which Phil has always maintained can never happen.

“There isn’t an awful lot,” reflects Keeley. “But that’s down to a few factors. We’ve introduced the new Danny Mays character of Jim Keats. That had to have a certain amount of screen time given over to it, to make the ultimate ending work. But I think they’ll be getting a bit more Galex than they’re anticipating in the last two episodes.”

I m pondering why Chris has yet to have his Life On Mars moment yet...like Shaz and Ray have...and what the sheet of stars is all about. I believe the stars are the key...

Also just who on earth if the policeman with the half shot face??? Still think it looks like a young Martin Summers but it can't be !!! xx

A theory from a friends OH

He thinks Gene is The Doctor in an intensive care unit trying to look after his patients.
Jim Keets is either death/infection/complications trying to kill them off.
All the police in Genes unit are the patients in ICU.

Well you never know and I never really worked out the ending to life on mars despite watching the boxed set and repeats.

I do think Keats is evil and Geney is the goody...

There was an odd thing last week when Keats was with the girl who was dying and it was like he was taking her over to the other side

I've found an interesting A2A forum and there are a lot on there who are convinced that the policeman with the half blown up face is a young Gene Hunt who is also in a coma or in some sort of Limbo....and when you look at the uniform that he's wearing it would make it right time wise (looks like it's a 1960s uniform)

Something one of them said that made me think there is something in it is Sams disappearance...

Months and years in the past (70s and 80s) is only a very short time in the 2000s. Could it have been the case that Sam stayed alive for a short while when he jumped off the building and that's the time he had left in the 70s. Once he had actually died in present time... he just disappeared ?

I've loads of jigsaw pieces of ideas floating around but I can't think how it's all going to be tied together x

I thought he died in present time,2000s and lived in 1970s
Intresting thought about Gene.

Glad people are watching it. at work there is only a couple of us who view it so less theories.

Older offspring at uni is the only one who seems to watch it (she is living at home though!)

I was 18 in 1881 so it seems very near to me although it was 29 years ago!!!!
