Jean (Monmouth) Report 28 Apr 2010 19:54

I have been going to the dentist for 65 yrs with no problem. So why did I have a complete shaking panic attack this week when I went for a simple filling? I can only think that I have not been well, and she laid the chair back too far ( I cant lie flat) I felt as though I was drowning and couldnt breathe. Had to come away with a temporary filling.

Who is a brave little soldier then?

See it wasn't that bad, all that effort spent worrying, you'll get wrinkles...lol

Glad it all went OK :-))

WELL DONE!!!!

Just got back in from a long day at the job training place, to see this. Well done hun, see it wasn't so bad after all (except the filling bit, but you know how I feel about fillings). And at least he's doing the clean while you're numb so that's a good thing too.

*calls off the mafia hit squad*

Well done you : )) I'm so pleased to hear that you have found the experience to be better than you had imagined .

Isn't it horrid that simple " fear " itself can make a situation SO much worse ............I hope your humorous dentist gave you a " I'm brave " sticker or some such treat ......lol

Glad you get to keep your tooth xxx

Well....I went !!!

What a funny guy my dentist is !!! Had a right good laugh which I wasn't expecting !!

I don't need my chipped tooth out he's going to fill it for me...and give them a good clean whilst I have the injection running...but he reckons apart from that one the others look ok...which is a relief.

Asked about the numbing spray and he said we're going to try it without...we have devised a system where I lift my leg if I feel I'm going to gag and want him to stop ...and see how that goes...though the option is there if I want it if that doesn't work.

Just about to book for the actual treatment but feel better for having met him...he's very laid back with a wicked sense of humour so even though I'm very worried about going back for treatment...it's nowhere near as bad as I'd imagined xx
