Hi Bridget

What lovely news - I am so pleased for you and send many congratulations to your son and his fiancee. Does the other son have a girlfriend and if so, will it push him into proposing too? lol

So much difference to when o.h.'s son got engaged around the end of Jan, it was all kept secret and only told to certain members of the family at a time, it was emailed to his grandfather which upset the old boy.
Even the wedding in August this year, is being arranged in a hole in the corner way, don't understand them!

Let's hope your lad and his young lady and his brother too have wonderful lives ahead of them.
Bet you are bubbling over with excitement, I would be, wish my son could meet his ideal woman!

Thank to both Liz and Ann,

Other tiwn was narried but his wife left him because "marriage is boring", they had been together for eight years having met at Uni,
He was devastated at the time, but now has another Welsh lass who is very good for him and they were together when second twin announced the intention and brought out a beautiful platinum and diamond ring!!!

Woke up this morning and it was wonderful to still have that very happy feeling. now I am wondering where the BIG EVENT may take place,,,I would like it to be in Sandhurst where son passed out (no he did not faint) but it could be in N Ireland as that is where her family are.

Listen to me rambling I do not know if the date and place has even been discussed yet, I must find out what gift they would like and send the biggest card I can find.

I will not keep on about it, I promise, but after all te worrying about my niece it was such a relief to have happy news.

Have a lovely day everyone.

OH thank ou all so much for your delightful reaction. I do believe that good news lifts the spirit and helps us to cope with the not so good news. I am going to talk to son and fiancee this evening. I also still have to go and buy a congrats card......how remiss of me.
How I remember when I was first engaged, I couldn't stop showing everyone my beautiful platinum and diamond ring which my future husband had bought with the money he had saved for a jaguar car. My ring was old and had been bought from a well known Jewish jeweler in the east end of London......

Wonderful days

Enjoy your day everyone
