i am here for a bit of both
i like the social side
the warm friendliness is overwhelming
and help i get with my tree
which is quite large and sometimes not so easy
to keep a breast of the mass of names and dates

Thanks everyone for replying...I seem to do more chatting than I should. However, I seem to be reading more genealogy threads lately. I need to put my tree back onto GR, the only trouble is that it's in 2 pieces lol

Polly thats right. You have to watch the cheeky ??? as they can change your membership in a heart beat. Crafty or what?
They changed mine last time and when I went to send my tree to gedcom and to get it off of here they had already taken my money at 11.45pm, when they shouldn't have taken it at all so I have already sent my tree to my email account and will tidy up my membership on here before they try and take any more cash off of me. It isn't a very secure site even though they try to tell us it is.

I'll do that now but I'm sure I have done it in the past and they have changed it!

Uzzi, watch your account as i did mine and they kept changing it back to continuous. I emailed them about this and it has been single account ever since.

Hoobity good point as I don't intend on renewing this year, will check my account

Polly, all you have to do is set your membership to single instead of continuous. Then they should not take your dosh willy nilly. I did this and when my membership is up and even before that I am off as I use another site far more than here which has given me far more than I could ever find on here, and that is with a gold membership.

*blushes* I got an e mail ....but didn't reply...so I'm stuck for another 6 months..My tree is on Ancestry..I tried to gedcom this afternoon and made a right mess of it...

I deleted my tree in a fit of pique as I didn't intend to renew this week but that went wrong and I was renewed,now I need to put my much improved tree back but got lost in gedcom..

about a year ago hahaha

Sorry Uzzi I was eating..lol I did have my tree on Tribal Pages but have a link between FTM search and Ancestry as I have 9 trees on the go...(I am a glutton for punishment).

I've only been doing my tree for a few months so I'm still quite into that but have been trying to do my daughter in law's and them coming from Ireland in 1946 Mum's side and Dads side being Travellers and both parents dead now, I'm stuck. Only found the chat today and it's great.

Sue ancestry can be a pain mind for those who don't search and don't want to pay have you thought of tribal pages for family

Uzzi, I don't know, never thought about that TBH. Mine are all on Ancestry cos I can invite family to see the tree.
