That's ok Angel, interesting to see how commom this is. When I think my son had really long thick hair, and 16 yrs ago at age of 17 shaved it all off, never seen his hair since ha ha. if only women could get away with it. |

Hair loss can also be a symptom of under-active thyroid. Look it up on Google. There is a lot of information there. Diabetics should watch for thyroid disease, as it is another glandular problem. |

I have been tested for thyroid too and doesn't seem to be a problem there. |

Today I have been to see my GP who took me off steroids six weeks since. He admits there is nothing else he can do for me (great), but has referred me to a dermatologist. No trichologist in the area apparently. I have an appointment for the beginning of March, and will keep the thread updated. |

Please do update, my hair falls out more than our long-haired cat's and I am always picking hair off my clothes. Only noticable effect is hair line slightly receding. Have psoriasis of the scalp, which may be part of the problem. |

I take no drugs except sometimes 5htp which is a natural antidepressant, and I have in the past taken kelp tablets too and seen some hair growth then. I also used to take Vit b, the yeast tablets at the time, as they are supposed to help too. |

Linda, I am so pleased you have your wig and got such enthusiastic comments about it too. I wish I still had the one I bought years ago, it was my original colour but I think I sold it to a friend of mine way back. It was pageboy style so would have done a treat. When I wore it it was because I hadn't had time to do my own hair, but oh dear, so embarrassing. I wore it to go out to a dancehall, and had this lovely lad smooching with me, he would keep stroking my hair at the back tho, and every so often I had to tug the fringe to get the wig back in place lol I don't think he realised tho but I beat a hasty retreat as soon as the dance finished lol and hid in the cloakroom for a while lol |

Liz your "half inch fluffy stuff" sounds most encouraging. |

Well I saw a riend on Friday for tea and although she knew I was thinking of having a wig she thought i'd had my hair "done". I did tell her as she recommended the shop. She said it looked really good. |

I do wish I had kept the dark pageboy one, I remember buying it in Peter Robinson's in the late 1960's so it might have looked a bit motheaten by now lol |

I have been to see the Consultant today regarding my hair loss. He had a good look at my scalp, said it was in good condition, and that there was no other cause for the decreasing hair loss other than ageing. |

Angel, well I suppose it's a relief to save the Regaine cost and know nothing you are doing or did will make things worse. |
