YOu answered your own question Kay.

Orbs are nothing to do with spirits, it's just modern camera's picking up dust motes.

Rosi Glow

Rosi Glow Report 18 May 2009 23:17

Orbs are pieces of dust nothing more than that....

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 18 May 2009 23:17

They only appear on flash photography. Could be a clue there, maybe....?

Good explanation here :

http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4029

The question is - are they the disembodied apparition of a ghostly earthbound spirit, or are they light reflecting from dust or other airborne particles when the flash is situated near the axis of the lens.......

See Occams razor :-)

Kay I have to be honest but I've had a fair whack of vino reddo tonight:))) But if orbs ain't tricks of light/ flash/whatever what are they supposed to be?

If a ghost could be picked up on a camera as a orb, then we'd see them for ourselves too.

Long exposure. Well known to anyone who has more than a rudimentary knowedge of photography.

What settings was the camera on? i.e. what f stop, shutter speed and film speed?

What does the exfil info say? It will be on there.

I've got loads of pics like that on film - when they happen on digital I bin them, unless they are taken that way deliberately.

It's nothing out of the ordinary, unless you want it to be. Like all your orbs.

Uggers

Uggers Report 18 May 2009 23:26

Why would a spirit appear as if a little round bubble or a light enhanced motorbike?

Take a look at this, it might help to explain it...

Nice well made site I must add...

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 18 May 2009 23:30

Then you havent asked the right experts. I just did explain it :-)

Nothing wrong with the camera. It's a slow shutter speed combined with flash. SImple as that, nothing more. Happens all the time, lol.

Wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

Teresa.

I just had a look at the link and that explains it perfectly to anyone who dont understand what a orb really is~Dust!!

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 18 May 2009 23:37

I repeat - there is nothing wrong with the camera, lol.

Now if you were taking a photo of a black cat in a coalshed on a dark night with no flash, and that came out, you might have a point!

But, you may believe as you will, that's fine with me. I rest secure in the knowledge that I've seen that effect thousands of times and I know what it is.

The other one is the same - the technical term is 'slow sync flash'. Dead simple, not in the slightest bit out of the ordinary at all.
