One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

So sorry to hear about your Mum, Mummo. I am thinking about you, too.

I love the 'Footsteps' piece that Shimms has sent for you both. It is one of my favourites. My mother-in-law sent it to me, once, a long time ago, when I was in a really bad place, and somehow it seemed to explain a lot to me. I often think about it, and I hope you will find it of comfort.

Take care, my lovely, and love to your Mum.

May l first say a huge thanks to Shimms for everything she has done for me today xxx
To you all a huge thankyou for you kind words and hugs.xxx
I'm sitting here at the moment not knowing what to do with myself just waiting for the phone to ring and feeling quite sick as l'm so worried about my mum.
Yesterday my brother went into the ki tchen (mum lives with him) and heard a wimpering sound but didn't know where it was coming from he went into the garden and found mum on the floor she had been out there for a hour and was very cold and seem to be in pain and couldn't walk, my brother picked her up (all 6 stone of her) and put her to bed but she wouldn't let him call for help and said she would be fine soon ( a very determined 84 year old) anyway to cut a long story short he phoned me this morning to say she still couldn't walk so l told him to phone the doctor who told him to phone for a ambulance when they arrived they thought mum might have fractured a bone in her upper leg and wanted to take her to hospital, mum didn't want to go said she'd be fine soon and was just tired and wanted to go to her bed, so they said they would leave for a while and let my brother calm her down and then come back and take her to hospital, which they did and am still waiting to hear whats happening l feel so sick at not being able to do anything do l travel up to Bristol now or wait for the phone call??? .Sorry to have gone on but just can't seem to stop worrying, wish it was 4.00pm then oh would be home from work, and he will know what to do for the best. thanks for listening to me rambling on xx
