Not staying on I need to get dressed, but came on to check GR had cancelled the free offer they gave me for 2 weeks Gold membership....I might have known, instead of being cancelled they changed my account to continuous....I know I didn't as I checked double checked and triple checked, and so did the Gman. So I guess now I am going to be exchanging e mails for Lemon knows how long trying to get my money back. I should of known it would end in pluddy tears.....COME ON GR get rid of me please I am trouble with a capital L :-) give us me money back I am a poor destituted citrus.

Hi Island thanks for replying. Thats the worst of it as I would never have kept doing that as I didn't even know you could untill they e mailed me offering the 2 weeks. If it had been the £9 odd thingy I might of just said "oh never mind just leave," it but £34.95 is a bit much to loose when I already have Ancestry. I should of known I never get nout for nout!! Oh well I suppose I best get dressed and keep my fingers crossed that they answer my e mail soon, I really know it would not be as straight forward, but I trusted GR to get it right, worrying thing is the circle for not continuing which I ticked, was changed to continue?? :-(
If they sort this I wont be back on, if they don't I will be to moan...please GR dis me and give me me money back, sob!

Lems, If they wont give you your money back you might be able to go via your Credit card provider, they could stop the payment.

Much though I would like you to continue as a member that is a lot of money!

Thanks Ann, have e mailed them and keep checking for a reply lol. I will try the card co but they have already extracted the payment while I was away. If it had been the little membership I probably would have let it go even though I had no intention of being back, but yes it is a lot especially when I have Ancestry and don't want or need it. Trust me!!! I should of ignored it and stayed gone, silly divil that I am. Fingers crossed they get back soon. If they don't help me I have learned a very expensive lesson, not to be smart and accept freebies :-( Hope you are well XXX

Oh Bobby just had an e mail, and I think they are saying I should of read the terms and conditions, so I am appealing to them like mad even if I have to keep the 6 months standard I can handle that but GOLD I don't want it, I don't want to even pay the little fee....but Gold! Two years ago I intended to leave instead of renewing. Like you, I made sure that the relevant box was checked - or maybe that should be unchecked - anyway, they took my money!
Last year they took my money despite having the wrong expiry date for my card.
Because it was the £9.95 for the year, I just left it - wonder how many do likewise!

They did the same thing to me last November. I'd put single membership and they changed it to continuous and, therefore, automatically renewed it. At least until I had a hissy fit in December and deleted myself and my account lol
