OOOh Maz !

I saw Culture club at Wembley Arena Dec 1984 ?

King was the support act & they were rubbish ! (remember Paul king who went on to be a VJ on MTV)

Right at the end CC sang Do they know its Christmas. If we went on the friday, the next and last night, apparently lots of the stars in the video all came on to sing it at the end - trust us to miss it by a day !

CC started going down after that what with george & his drugs :o((

Hi Elaine,

I tasked my very clever OH with finding your Fade to Grey thing - he's found a dance mix so that might be the one - we can send you a link to a site you could download it from. And if it's not the one you meant he'll have another look!

You see, I said I wanted to send you some daffs but this might be better, lol

Hi Elaine, yep early 80's was my yoof too :-)
I see jumpsuits are back, I had 2 ... a purple glittery one and a black satiny one (omg pmsl), then jodhpurs (sp?) I had blue cord ones, also had the frilly shirt, those really pale jeans very skinny ones, grandad shirts/dresses, braces, raras, pencil skirts, BIG hair, which I always wanted but never got til I had a perm :-)) which EVERYONE had. and of course everything had shoulder pads ...
my ipod is virtually all late 70s early 80s music, I bop around the allotment singing along ... if no-one else is about lol we had a BIG thing for Adam and the Ants, Human League etc lol plus of course what they now call Club Classics!
I used to sometimes go with friends (older than me) to the Camden Palace and I wore a dress of my mum's which I loved, from the 50s I suppose, would be called vintage now and probably worth a fortune! I remember we saw Steve Strange there one night, probably others too but can't remember!
thanks Elaine, nice memories :-)

I do like some of the music Elaine but for me the music revolution during the 60's was something so huge I don't think another era can touch it.

I remember when the protest songs started being wriiten but not broadcast unless it was on pirate radio stations. All of my friends genuinely started to take an interest in what was happening overseas.

We would all sit for hours in one anothers' front rooms and just listen in complete silence. Awesome times.
