Eldrick Report 10 Apr 2009 16:18

And the lord (land) spoketh to his customer and said ‘verily, thou shouldst getteth down from that stool and buy a round it’s about time’ and his customer respondeth by saying ‘get thine own, I gotteth the last ones and I’ll have another pint thanketh you’

And so it came to pass that the lord (land) gotteth him more of the refreshing amber wine supplied by the worshipful and reverend gentleman known as Smith. And the customer dranketh it greedily, and also purchased a packet of the communion wafers known as ‘new cheese and fish flavour’. And he placethed them on his tongue and took a swallow of his amber wine and rejoiced in the bounty sent to him by the lord (land).

And so it came to pass that after bountiful inhalations of the amber wine and divers bags of Walkers new flavoured potato wafers, the lord (land) spoke to the customer once more. ‘Thou hast had plenty my son. It is time for thee to go to thine humble abode’ and the customer said ‘Urgle gurgle BLARRGHHH’ as he hath imbibethed in mucheth plentiful refreshment of the good Reverend Smith.

The lord (land) was not pleased and he grabethed the customer by his smock and aided by his devout border collie dragethed him to the door whereupon and whereas he deposited him in a heap on the road outsideth the door to his humble inn, where there was always plenty of room. He delivered him a kick in the ribs for goodeth measure.

And lo, a mechanical carriage was passing and the man controlling it stoppeth and bent over the customer. He sayeth to him ‘climb on board, my son, and I will take thee to the temple of Lord Tetley whereas thoust may sample the wine of the savior, for I feareth the wine of Smith may have been passed it’s selleth by date’. And the carriage drivers name was Sam and he was not of the tribe of that village, but from further afield.

And so the customer was conveyed to the great sanctuary known as ‘The Sign of the Red Lion’ and he was refreshed by the wine of Tetley and was able to stand and sing divers songs known only to him and others who could understand his tongue. A great host drew nigh and praised Saint Tetley and gave thanks also to bishops Bell and Grouse.

For the resurrection of the man from his perilous condition could only be ascribethed to the miraculous powers of this holy trinity and henceforth all in the valley gave great worship and praise and made many sacrifices to these hallowed names.

Here endeth the lesson

Oh Eldrick, thank you. I was seriously doubting my sanity 5 minutes ago. I know I am still at home and not in a parallel universe where I would be struck down by some plague, manifesting itself in boils or other blemishes for not eating the right meal today.

If you were nearer I'd buy you a single malt.
