what is the star rating next to names?

Sorry to confuse, when i searched a name, it came up with a 3 star rating next to it. Don't know if this is any clearer but thanks for your message.

To change your name, click on My Account at the top right hand side, choose a Community Name, click save. xxx

can't find it now, when i saw it there were 5 stars and 3 were highlighted' when i hovered cursor overi t said 3 star rating. perhaps i'm going mad :)

Joanne are you sure it was on here. There's a star rating on ancestry - could you have seen it on there?

I think your refering to searches you've made for family names.

These are ratings of names listed in a search you made. These ratings are for guidance only. ie the info returned against info entered into search..

It doesn't have to be 5 stars to be a match.

aha! not mad after all, just slightly confused! thanks maria,i've been hopping around on here too long.
in reply to shimmer, been dabbling with tree for some time, but just found i'm on someones tree along with several family members, and i've no idea who this person is, gotta love a mystery ;)
