Oh Janet
I loved the Vesta Curry and Rice. I remember them coming out in the early 60s just after I got married. Sadly you can't buy them here in Australia.
I think I ilked them because I don't like really hot curry and they were just right.

I might go to the English Shop we have here see if he can get them for me.

Ohhhhhhh I really fancy one now.

Ham and cheese toast toppers. What the hell were they all about?

I bought a Vesta beef curry for a friend the other day, can't believe they still make them! My mum used to cook them for my dad. Sure he didn't appreciate them 'cos he worked in the docks and used to get proper curry off the boats from India!

Heres a few things I remember.

National Health orange called spring. It came in powder form in a big tin. From what I remember it tasted a little like fanta.

I remember the cresta bear, he gave me a nightmare which I can still remember! As for traffic light lollies, one of those knocked a tooth out. I was distraught, the tooth went down a drain and I cried 'cos the tooth fairy wouldn't leave me sixpence!

Bovril sarnies, sugar sarnies, dripping on toast. Taking the footie results for my dad. Dickie Davies.

Gummi bears 6 for 1p, Frys peppermint cream, potato puffs and a big bag of chips and a big pickled onion for 10p on the way home from swimming.

½d Spanish (Liqourice)
It was just a small hard stick that you dipped in your Calie (Sherbert)
Not the bigger ones with the flat spoon on the end you can still get those.
Even the Chemist sold the small ones was supposed to be good for you to keep you regular lol

Everlasting Strips
Poor Bens
Parma Violets

Not sweets but the Ice Cream Sandwich that they made themselves at the shop
They had a metal frame they put the first wafer in then spread Ice Cream in with a wooden Spatula then the other wafer on top. It came out like a Sandwich. Oh you felt so grown up if you had one of those instead of a Cornet only adults ate those usually.

Happy Days

Sue
I buy Vita Wheat all the time. They are a really Hard Crispbread. They have diffrent Varieties of them now but all equally as good.
They even have a larger Sandwich size now too. I love them I like anything that's crunchy. Hubby compains when I eat them as he says he can hear me crunching lol

Sparkling Sandie,
I think you must be thinking of Ajax instead of Vim,
Used to love Jubblies, espeacially the apple ones, what about Ciderette lollies, and chocosticks, they were like wethers sweets but in a long twist with chocolate running down the middle.
What about Parma violets, everlasting Toffee strips. Flash Powder, Victory V lozenges, Rainbow Crystals.

Will have a think and see what else I can remember.

My favourite crispbread to have with cheese was called Vita weat .

It was made by Peek Freans and I haven't seen them for years.

I just googled and discovered that they still have a version of them in Australia
http://www.arnotts.com.au/varieties/Vita-Weat.aspx

I wonder if they still taste as good?

Here's a good site for nostalgia.
