Hi folks..has been a longtime since I showed my nic here..lol.
Just thought i share this.
I have just this day traced my family back( mothers side) to 1034.

It appears I am decended from a Knight..and a Sir at that that....lol....

So ..bow before me my subjects...or feel the wrath of my sword....lol.....oh er!.. : )

Well done Sir Boogie, bowing to his lordship, I've only got back as far as the 1500s and I'm really chuffed with that, so to get back to 1034, wow.

Have to say...i dont' like this new look...it's a real pain...continually crashies and messes up my tree updates..keeps changing places on tree without asking..so i end up putting in info..in wrong place..very annoying as i then have to sort it all out again...AAAHHHH!!!!.

Anyway....nice to hear from you all...has been awhile.

I have been very busy with my tree of late.....it is growing so fast..It's hard to keep up.!

Have only been build since June last year?..so about 8 months.
I started out knowing pretty much nothing about my family...didn't even know where my own parents were born!!...lol.

Never meet my grandparents...and have had no real contact with family since 1986...when my father died.
So it wasn't going to be easy.

But I got lucky....I found a couple of "ready made" trees online containing some of my family line.....which was a great help.

But it has been hard going at times......
The connection to the Knight I have found just today.....with a little searching on the net. The dates are a little iffy....but I think it's just a typing mistake..as it all falls into place with what I already had....it all follows right down the line....

I have been amazed at what I have found since I started...could never of dreamed of such.

There maybe a link to the Royal family of today...via Queen Victoria's nephew, Duke of Cambridge..Prince of England....part of the Saxe- Coburgs..of Germany and the Romanov's of Russia.

I have not been able yet to prove that as yet...but ..there is a chance.
Plus a link to Vincent Van Gogh..the famous painter.....

Its been crazy!!....lol. :)

Hope everyone else has as much luck as me...
I now have 4497 folks in my tree...not bad as I started out knowing nothing much at all..lol..

Charlemagne...King of the Franks..

The link I found today about being a decendent of a Knight..well the Knight is decended from Charlemagne...King of the Franks....King or Europe,,,lol

One of my contacts has asked me to get it done...so she can place me exactly into the reasearch she has been carrying out for over 20 years!....

Just that money is so tigh at the moment...being out of work becuase of my arthritis means I got no spare cash ;(.

Such a shame I could really place myself into the where and when of the worlds population..would be most interesting.

Oh well..... ;( ho hum!

I have been totally amazed at how my family lines have panned out.
Its just bizzarre!

I have been lucky...coming across a number of folks who had already done a large amount of research on certain names and parts of my family.

That has been a great help......and I have made contact with some really nice folks....but there have been some who frankly...need a good kick in the arse!

But it has been most interesting...knowing things now could never of dreamt of.

weve not met before (firm handshake) but i think i can go back even further
to a distant relation to Dennis the 4th and not so wise man .
yes i was astounded to learn there were 4, .
they followed a star 3 stopped at a place called bet le heim , but dennis kept going till he reached what is today France, .
he rested at a spot that he liked and decided to spend the rest of his life there , thus giving name to "ille de sant dennis" in paris.
So therfore i am not only 1 millionth french but i also own Paris , probably the whole of France if i delved hard enough.

Created France..in a sence..he was ruler of most ..is not the Whole of Europe.!
Certainly France and Germany......I come down from Sir Peter Gunter..he is decended from Charlemagne. He was a Knight...around 1034.
he came from France with William the Conquer..I think....
