I live on Wirral and my husband and I have both done the test (my husband after a bit of persuasion). My smear was clear but they found my husband had a polyp which was a bit difficult to remove. The first biopsy was clear but the second had cancer. However everything now looks clear and he does not need any other treatment but will be monitored periodically. The treatment we both received was first class and all the staff involved including Macmillan nurses who looked after me as well were wonderful. We couldn't have had better treatment if we were paying. |

Don't think they are offering it here in North Wales but I had a colonoscopy instead.............. Dad died of bowel cancer in 1983 and Mum has been treated for rectal cancer over the last two years, (successfully I may add.... fingers crossed). Myself, two sisters and brother were all tested on the advice of doctors....all clear thank goodness. |

I had a sort of kit thing to use which came to all over 60s I think, and mine came back clear, I think anyone who doesn't use the test kit is daft, so easy to get checked out, why risk anything worse? |
