I am catching up with my family tree! Snow everywhere (Northants) schools closed, roads blocked. Even my dog who loves a bit of snow said it was too much after leaping through thick snow up to his middle and decided to beat me back into the house!! Children going by in the road with sledges and trays to slide on!
Although it had stopped snowing this morning it has started again. I'm putting loads of food out for the birds!

Snow-free in this part of Kent ( near Channel coast ) since Monday night.
We're near south facing hills which protect us somewhat, but over the top there is still snow in the fields.....so I'm told by family. Roads clear though.

Hi everyone gosh what a morning already! we had loads of snow first off and it hasn't stopped since. Heard on local radio that eldest school is closed today - loads of whooping and cheering from him! grumpy faces on the other two cos they have to go. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to work on what would have been a fifteen minute journey. I have never seen such idiots driving so fast then braking at last minute. Even the main roads are treacherous and haven't been gritted.

Am now awaiting a phone call from school to say i have to go back to collect youngest two.

Then when i arrived at work my boss says well we didn't expect you to get in today anyway.

And it's still snowing here in Nottinghamshire.

We are on the lower reaches of the Pennines, close to the border with Nottinghamshire, but very, very, bad further up county. In this area alone, M1 very trecherous, over 300 schools closed, events cancelled. Even the dog groomer called to cancel me dogs shampoo and set today

Had a good 4 inches of snow here near Stourbridge on Monday, slowly melted over two days.

Almost gone last night, but this morning it is 2 to 3 inches thick again. Hubby walked to work this morning. The problem is worse in the evenings when the snow is compressed on minor roads and turns into a skating rink.

But after saying all this, I love to look out at it, my garden looks so pretty.

I'm also in Harlow & lots of the snow has turned to slush due to the rain, there is lots of puddles in the road which will turn to dangerous ice if it freezes again today/night

Pavements are still thick ice under the slush on back roads, still scarey to walk on :o((

Oh & to cap it all we have mist/ / fog
