Has anyone attended a meet and actually done any research with other members?.....just curious.

I have been to a Family History Meeting in Cwmbran and met other members but did not do proper research.

That would be an interesting Meet, no reason why peeps cannot research and natter at the same time.

Is that what you were thinking of Susan?

Oh I don't want to go on one GTS.....it just crossed my mind that most of the meets from GR seemed to be just to meet others but not for research

Yes then sort of... Jean Durant and I go regularly to the LMA and I've met a few people by accident who I'm friendly with there. Jean and I have been there and to other places with people we're mates with from here too but I've not arranged to meet up with anyone I don't know.

Did you know them before GR though David?

Must be great researching with people you know. So far I have been researching via email with second cousins. They do a lot of leg work too and find all those little things that are not to be found on the internet. I expect we will have to meet up sometime..they keep asking.

Yeah, I met them all through GR. I didn't know anyone else did this hobby until I joined;)

On second thoughts you might be better off meeting with someone fairly sensible, perhaps Uggers will volunteer and be gentle with you :-))
