Aint that bovvered Uggers :o))

People that matter to me know the truth & friends are more important than sad individuals whos main aim in life is to cause upset.

Besides, I think as time goes on, more & more peoples eyes are opened to whats true & whats fabricated on here & elsewhere :o))

Rose, why do some think talking about mental illness and 'offensive' subject?

It's a fact of life. As you said, mental illness to one degree or another touches all of us at some time in our lives. I thought the days when mental illness should be hidden away and forgotten, or pretend it doesn't exist, were long gone.

I've dealt with suicide within my family, and another who attempted suicide. My OH's best mate, who suffered from paranoia, ended up stabbed and left to bleed to death on a street corner because of it. It's there, all around us, and the sooner we accept it and at least try to understand it, the better for all concerned.

Sorry Rose I fail to see why this thread is "totally offensive" its about the only interesting thread I read on chat for a week at least, as you have said metal illness has touched all our lives at some point.

I have a very close relative with paranoia..................he is right and everyone else is wrong. He accuses everyone of ganging up on him, lying, cheating etc etc.

This is a genuine illness and he shows no concern for anyone who is hurting because of his actions.

My own view is the people who are causing the current unrest shouldn't be allowed anywhere near these boards for there own sake as well as everyone elses.

There is treatment available, but if they refuse it we are the ones who suffer.....................the truly paranoid will strut about causing untold misery without a second thought for those they hurt.

If they are just playing a game for the "fun" of it then they are beneath contempt.

Apparently this thread is "totally offensive"....funny though that the person who found it so, felt it ok to name someone in their PM to me....!

Let me make this entirely clear, mental illness is something that touches all of us at some point in our lives , to some degree...it is to be understood, helped with, the sufferer given as much support as possible.. Anyone REALLY suffering from the above disorder deserves help and sympathy ...... However, someone who uses name changing and 'disguise' to cause trouble for others should think hard about what they are doing to others and ultimately themselves...what goes round comes round!

Whilst reading this there was a sort of profile if you like, that normally the person lives a lone or a very lonely life, no friends not much contact with the outside world..

Jean Durant Report 20 Dec 2008 11:49

Nothing I can add to what has already been said. There are 1 or 2 seriously mentally deranged people on these boards who seem to blame some members of GR for all their ills.

Called paranoia isn't it?

Personally, I think there are one or two people who seriously need help, but as someone else said, they will never see it, because they cannot admit it to themselves. Often they dont' even know what it is they need help with, to them, aspects of their behaviour is perfectly normal, and its others who are the problem.

As Hayley said, on here, new names crop up, who immediately detest blame ignore or slag off the same people, while claiming to be new, and they do it in exactly the same style, with the same spelling errors, punctuation mistakes etc as the previous names.

I don't know about you, but I find that really disturbing. Who on earth, with a normal level of sanity, would ever feel the need to do something like that?
