Prisoner of Love!
Perry Como

Alone from night to night you'll find me too weak to break the chains that bind me.
I need no shackles to remind me, I'm just a prisoner of love.
For one command, I stand and wait now from one who's master of my fate now.
I can't escape for it's too late now, I'm just a prisoner of love.
What's the good of my caring if someone is sharing those arms with me.
Although she has another, I can't find another for I'm not free.
She's in my dreams awake or sleeping, upon my knees to her I'm creeping,
My very life is in her keeping, I'm just a prisoner of love.

I cant remember that far back but I presume it was a piece from the musical show "The White Horse Inn". When my mother was expecting me I was overdue and the doc phoned dad to ask if it was alright for him to go to The White Horse Inn. Dad didnt know it was the latest musical show and said 'Yes, but dont come home drunk'.
(Who can guess my age?)

Huia.

Talk to me not of Barbie moments, Igor.

My daughter (now 26) was once the proud recipient of a Barbie wedding set many years ago.

Enter stage left Barbie, in full white ( Pamela Anderson-like) regalia.

Unfortunately, we didn't have husband-to-be Ken

We did, however, have Tropical Ken, complete with swimming trunks and the strange ability to tan if left out in the sun.

But no wedding clothes

So Cryrstal Barbie married Sun Tanned Ken in Crystal Barbie's track suit which didn't quite meet around the back end of nonchalant Ken.

Remind you of Katie Price and Peter Andre?

She's grown a mind now, thank goodness!

a bit of a phil spector then i owned a Les Paul guitar now in the tiny hands of my grandaughter as a (very expensive) keepsake, as arthritic fingers dont allow anymore hot licks unfortunately.

I can't wait to tell my partner what topped the charts on the day he was born.

A Percy Faith item. Ha ha, perfect for the man who believes Jimi Hendrix was the greatest musician of all times. :)

Unfortuntately, very unfortunately, my sound card isn't working, but I'll keep a note of your post for when it's repaired.

Sue, just saw your post.

Les Paul and Mary Ford were a duo in life and music. Do check out the YouTubes.

Here's Vaya con Dios:

I recently saw a wonderful documentary about them and their music. Les Paul can claim a lot of musical innovations.

How High the Moon is one of my favourites:

Speaking of Lili Marlene ... I came close, lol.

"Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart" by Vera Lynn

I've always quite liked Vera Lynn, so that's fine by me.

Les Paul and Mary Ford -- YouTube has some terrific videos of them, if you are a fan (as I am).

Well, I never did!

I've just looked up this "Vaya con Dios" by Les Paul and Mary Ford and found that the same Les Paul was indeed:

"Les Paul (born Lester William Polsfuss on June 9, 1915) is an American jazz guitarist and inventor. He is a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which "made the sound of rock and roll possible." His many recording innovations include overdubbing, delay effects such as "sound on sound" and tape delay, phasing effects and multitrack recording"

Oh, to be born on 14/08/1953 when Les Paul actually topped the charts!

I wonder who Mary Ford was?
