This is a very amusing thread !

You mean you have windows!!

We are still trying to get a water supply....lol

I´ve just been outside in the pouring rain, organizing buckets to collect the rainwater to chuck down the loo!

Helen, that seems v expensive to pay for your outside windows to be cleaned!! Do you live in a mansion??!!
When I'm home, I pay £8 for the outside windows to be done (no conservatory).

I agree with Tina - water, a splash of vinegar and newspaper.

Of course, if you don;t scrub the corners they won't come clean by magic....

Jean (Monmouth)

Jean (Monmouth) Report 7 Dec 2008 15:10

If I do them, I fill a spray bottle with vinegar and water, then clean them off with a microfibre cloth. OH washes them and dries with an old windscreen wiper, then polishes them off. Mostly rely on net curtains to hide the dirty windows!

I'm married to a window cleaner and get him to do it. We never have smears - if I did, I'd have to sack him. LOL

Karen in the desert Report 7 Dec 2008 13:19

I've always used a teeny drop of washing up liquid in the water, and use a sponge or J cloth to get dirt off. Finish off with a dry soft cloth - an old towel or T shirt does the trick, and polishes them up nicely.

Janet 693215 Report 7 Dec 2008 12:01

If you are cleaning both the inside and outside remember to wipe one side horizontally and the other vertically. That way, if when the sun shines you spot a smear, you'll know if its on the inside or outside.

PS I never clean windows, thats what rain is for!

Window Cleaning wipes for inside, or the spray.

Outside - Two men come round with a van and they clean the windows with a special water from their van, and the water is sprayed through a brush, Windows left nice and clean and it is not dear £10 for 14 windows and a conservatory.

OH used to get up on a ladder every so often, but thought now in his 70's to much of a risk. So worth the money for safety.
