WINDOWS.I clean and think I have done a good job ,and then the sun shines and they look terrible.I am at a loss as to make them look clean with no smears.

Drop of vinigar in the water.

One of those blue e-cloths. Spray the windows with water and polish off with an e-cloth. Lovely jubbly.

They cost a few quid but no chemicals involved and they work!

I have one of those cloths but use a window cleaner too.So I just need to use water ,or water with a little vinegar?It is my worst B****y nightmare as I have so many windows.

Used to use windowlene - streaks all over the place, then I was told the old fashioned way of water with vinegar in. Wash windows with that solution and then wipe down with newspaper - windows come up sparkling - and no streaks lol

I do it with any spray on window cleaner and rough cheap kitchen roll. The rougher and cheaper the better. For years my windows had been streaky and my dad's cleaner recommended doing it this way and it really does work. No streaks anywhere.

Also do mirrors and glass in pictures this way too.

I have never tried the news paper so will give that a try.

All the above methods are super, well tried and tested. Just don't clean windows whilst sun is shining in or else you can't see where you have cleaned/missed.

Get the window cleaner to do it.

I use " elbow grease "............lol........but I don't do them very often as the dogs mess them up again with lots of nosey marks..........lol

using vinager on car window causes window rubber to rot

watch out for leaky windowscreen

Window Cleaning wipes for inside, or the spray.

Outside - Two men come round with a van and they clean the windows with a special water from their van, and the water is sprayed through a brush, Windows left nice and clean and it is not dear £10 for 14 windows and a conservatory.

OH used to get up on a ladder every so often, but thought now in his 70's to much of a risk. So worth the money for safety.

If you are cleaning both the inside and outside remember to wipe one side horizontally and the other vertically. That way, if when the sun shines you spot a smear, you'll know if its on the inside or outside.

PS I never clean windows, thats what rain is for!

I've always used a teeny drop of washing up liquid in the water, and use a sponge or J cloth to get dirt off. Finish off with a dry soft cloth - an old towel or T shirt does the trick, and polishes them up nicely.
