At the moment I have a Hotpoint Aquarius, but it sounds as if someone is inside banging dustbin lids together !! so ... I think I may need a new one! :-(( |

Couple of engineers have told me the same thing - depends on how much you use it - if anything like me 2-3 times a day , one at £280 will last the same length of time as one at £500.John Lewis normally do a good deal with warranties. Agree with you Maz they dont make things like they used to! lol |

I have a Whirlpool, no complaints and does a good job. Don't notice the noise as it is not in the kitchen. My mum only ever had two machines, a Bendix and a hotpoint. the hotpoint finally packed up a couple of years ago, must have been 20 years old at least. My previous machine in UK was a Hotpoint and was very good. Gave it away before we moved out here. |

Bought my Miele January 1990 well used. Still looks like new feel it has more than paid for itself. No sign of it giving up the ghost. |

Sorry, jumping on this posting again. Had a look on john lewis web site-they do sell all of the above machines. They are doing a 2 year warranty with washing machines and a 5 year one with all televisions, might be worth a look. x |
