As a child I thought 'Knees Up Mother Brown' was a horrible song about torturing an old lady.

The boy next door cried at 'Ferry Across the Mersey' because he thought it was about sending a stray dog away.

When I heard the song called "The going gets tough" I thought they were singing "Go and get stuffed" !!!!!!!

I was listening to Shania Twain's That don't impress me much the other day, a song I just love and have been listening to since it came out ( don't know if this counts )....then realised for the first time there were some rather rude words in it.....sheesh...even recommended it to my children

last week in a charity shop I saw a cotton bag and read the label prune stones. It took about a minute for me to realise it said rune stones. When I was young I used to sing to the aria form Figaro motor car motor car, why I don't know. Elaine.

i once spent an entire journey to devon singing " because it's jelly jelly jelly jalapo!" i don't know the title of the song but i think the words i was actaully looking for is 'because it really really really could happen'. perhaps a blur/oasis song!

oh and i also thought that i want to be your teddy bear said i want to be your taliban for a few months- thought it was slightly odd that elvis would be singing about the taliban! WHOOPS!

haha! trust me it didn't make my family laugh when they had to listen to it for four hours straight! i still get teased about it! :)

p.s just googled and i think the song was Blur 'the universal'

Hmmm!!!! many years ago when I was alad, we had to lick the insects off the ro...........ooops thats a different story...........LOl

the young girls would have a Grotto outside their door and some would be singing songs for pennies...one little lass was singing, and she had the words written down..........."I'll feed the sane"....
