Ask the health visitor to show you some baby massage techniques, this was the only thing that helped my youngest who suffered really badly from colic. |

Yes, we used the fennel seed method for our little one. It was an indian grandma who was visiting her daughter in my maternity ward who told us about it. |

It is also important for mum to watch her diet if she is breast feeding. |

Try an osteopath .........about £40.00 but often works as the birth can be the cause ...... |

I used to use gripe water, always Woodwards as any other make was vile, we used gripe water fom about 10 days old, we also did gentle tummy rub as well as laying him on his tummy across my knees so as to extend the tummy to release the wind head tilted up, it calmed my son down, you don't say if you are feeding yourself or formula? also is your baby constipated or the other way? |

When my daugher was a baby I never put her over my shoulder and pat her back to "wind" her - I had read somewhere that it was only something the western culture did. When she had finished feeding I would just lay on her front across my lap for a while before putting her in her cot - she never had colic. |

All I can say is do what my daughter did - dump the baby with g.parents each weekend! g.son nearly 20 and I remember with horror the day and night colic from 3 mths. We took the baby to give them some sleep at weekends whilst here, OH, myself and son took it in turns - tried everything changed from breast milk, to different types of food, different bottles, different teats, goats milk, bottles with plastic liners. I thought colic usually came at around 3 months - fingers crossed for you. |
