Should've been sacked rather than suspended.

Dawnieher3headaches Report 29 Oct 2008 15:05

and if the BBC are fined I hope they dont expect the licence payers to cough up should be those two and whoever saw fit to broadcast it seeing as it was pre recorded and had to be vetted

Do you know that JR sells his Tv shows to BBC.? When I went round BBC in the summer they said that JR and Paul O`grady rent a studio from beeb and then sell them back -JR to BBC and Paul to Channel 4

BBC are soooo sorry, not sorry about all the publicity, what is that saying, " there is no such thing as bad publicity"

TOR

TOR Report 29 Oct 2008 15:12

Unfortunately I think the only person who is going to be hung out for this fiasco is the 25 year old producer.

Who from what I've read was in a no win situation. He risked being fired by JR if he didn't broadcast and now as the producer people are saying he should lose his job.

Dont like either of them and dont listen to RB radio show and JR is only on the car radio at weekend if I am out usually turn it off and put tape on.

Well I'm glad that they have both been suspended.....I hope the outcome of the investigation isn't some "back ground " person being used as a scapegoat.

I've thought Jonathan Ross has turned into a pompous windbag over the years and find listening to his droning on about himself on the radio,intolerable............as for the other twerp , I won't miss him at all if he never appears on tv again.

Lot of fuss over nothing.

Well said Amanda, I mean they're not even cute are they, the photo's of them on BBC news were just like your description, a couple of windbags.

Sack them both.
From a former fan of both "men".
And no, this hasn't got out of proportion: they're supposed to be grown men, for God's sake!
For those that say it's a lot of fuss over nothing, Sharron, with respect: how would you feel if your grandfather received such a call?

Sharron

Sharron Report 29 Oct 2008 16:15

I don't think my grandfather would have wanted me to be an exotic dancer,he would have thought I was a stripper and been very ashamed.

Joy

Joy Report 29 Oct 2008 16:32

Making obscene telephone calls is illegal; to broadcast them is beyond comprehension.

I have heard Mr Sachs accept their apologies.

I wouldn't be surprised if the suspension is temporary and that in a few months' time the matter will be forgotten by most people except Mr Sachs and his family.

A storm in a teacup!

Why on earth did Gordon Brown feel he had to pass comment? Hasn't he got something more important to think about like the impending recession?

The complaints only came in once the media picked up the story.
The original 2 were over the use of the F word.

How many people actually heard the original broadcast? How many people sought out the recording after the media grabbed the story?

I dislike the pair of them so perhaps my view is biased but personally I wouldn't miss either of them.

The BBC should have the guts to fire them both. Afterall it's not as though they don't have plenty of other commercial contracts to ensure their inflated incomes don't drop too much.

If Mr Sachs grandaughter wants to be an exotic dancer and sleep with a moron thats up to her but I do not want to hear about it on any BBC programm.
I do not pay my licence fee to hear and see that kind of behaviour.
