Love Christmas but hate the heat so Christmas day is usually really hot. We normally go to my son's who has a swimming pool.
No hot meats & vegies for us we normally have Cold Turkey, Hams and lots of different Salads. No Plum Pudding but usually a nice light Cheesecake and a Trifle for dessert.
Still its always lovely to get together with my family and especially my Grandchildren.
Would love a Christmas in the Snow for a change though. White Christmasses were happy days I remember.
Regards
Jackie

There are usually one or two on here over Christmas.

I still love Christmas and always have, even through the times when money was short. But in those times our children didn't look for big presents, theyw ere excited over every little gift they had because it was christmas. and, in answer to you Mel, We still in this house recognise the true meaning of Christmas. i always have a crib, the main part of which was made by our daughter about 35 years ago, it is scruffy now but part of our christmas.

Christmas is about traditions, some brought with us from childhood and some developed in our own family. I love buying presents and giving them, love the tree, the decorations and the carols and christmas songs. I even enjoy christmas shopping.

"Angels voices every singing" - imagine angels singing to welcome your baby into the world - how wonderful - every baby is a gift from God

It does have mixed emotions for me as well. I remember sitting in our cottage in Cornwall, my business having gone to the wall after we had ploughed in everything we had got. We were sitting wrapping up the meagre presents we had managed to get from discount shops and contemplating a Christmas Day that would mean nothing different to eat and just the worry of what the future held and on the radio came 'Have Yourselves a Merry Little Christmas' we both sat and sobbed. Even now that particular song brings a tear to my eye

Christmas' of yesteryear are a thing of the past ~ for some anyway ~ in my house we see the true meaning of Christmas ~ the shepherd in their poverty bought gift and they were more precious than those of the Wise men, a gift given from the heart is more precious than gold
