The Original Catherine from Manchester

The Original Catherine from Manchester Report 25 Oct 2008 23:13

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, the Archangel Gabriel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look Gabriel, look what I've made." Archangel Gabriel looked puzzled and said, "What is it?" "It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put Life on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance." "Balance?" inquired Gabriel, still confused. God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, North America will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while South America is going to be poor. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people" God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice." The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a small populated area in the land of Great Britain and said "What's that?" "Ah," said God. "That's Manchester, the most glorious place on Earth. There's a beautiful river, glorious parks, and buildings, and great music. The people from Manchester are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found travelling the world as ex-patriots. They'll be extremely sociable, hard-working and high-achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace." Gabriel gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there will be balance!" God replied wisely, "Wait until you see Liverpool.”

at which point, he looked the other way and set his sights over the Pennines to the real world and looked in amazement onto the true heart of football.

And, lo, he delivered Shearer to manage his own side and the rest, as they say, is history!

got to give them something - after all, 28 years is a long wait.

Seriously, when we get out of this director of football stuff and get a manager who actually manages, watch out, we're coming

Cheers, Catherine

Amazing that teams with this wonderful concept of "director of football"are at the bottom of the league

I can't imagine Sir Alex putting up with this crap,

btw, apparently Mike Ashley's lost a fortune in this credit crunch. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke! Maybe his slary cheque to Dennis Wise (what a name) will have bounced!
