I used to knit a nice line in mohair monkeys! I have threatened to knit one for my younger son to keep in his car, but that did not go down too well.
I still have crocheted jackets I made over thirty years ago. I stopped knitting and crocheting when my two sons were small, and have never really got back into making things again, but just lately hints have been dropped about homemade Guernsey sweaters making nice Christmas presents!

The trouble is Rita I don't have a huge amount of patience for anything like knitting and end up with my scarves being very holey! lol
I do cross stitch, which is now easier since I've had my glasses. :)

I have a friend (yes honest!) who can knit extremely well and when I was expecting my first she knitted me tons of matinee jackets. Which were lovely, but I only used about 2 of them in the end!

I love to knit when I have time...
I learned to knit very young...and won a competition for design and knitting an outfit for a doll..when i was only 7 years old.....sorry about bragging...
my future D I L has asked me to teach her to knit...

I still wear a knitted coat that I did when I was 18... so that makes it 34 years old....I have also kept most of the baby clothes I knit the kids....
My main thing is sewing though...
I have been toying with the idea of buying me a knitting machine.......I hd one years ago....and loaned it out......and never saw it again!!..I never even got to have a go on it....

Coal Miners Daughter - I'm not trying to put you off BUT. I had knitting machines for years, some 15 years ago. Any new attachment that came out, I bought it. THEN ,Nike and Adidas started to make tops with their names on. I was immediately made redundant by my large family of grandsons. No more bobble sweaters, please Grandma.
But to be serious, unless you have alot of knitting to do, I would save your money. There is more pleasure in hand knitting, and relaxation.
