Sue, I was going to add the same information re the big toe.
I hope things don't come to that and the thumb can be saved, altho it will be a painful time for the poor woman.
Hope things are better for both of them now.

What an awful thing to happen but she has been very lucky it would seem. Glad she will be ok and I hope they can save her friend's thumb.

Thanks so much for all your good wishes.

Alison came home about 4pm yesterday.
Son went to work and about 10pm she phoned us in a state as she was covered in the most terrible rash and was swelling up and felt quite ill.

We rushed down there, luckily only live about 10 minutes away, and took her to the local Aand E.

Turns out be be nothing to do with the previous accident but a 'simple' case of uticaria (hives), Well if that was simple I wouldn't have liked to have had it. She was all swollen and her eyes were like slits. The doctor said that as her body was super-sensitive at the moment it could be anything, a hot bath, body lotion etc.

She had more piriton and we are going over there in a minute to see her.

She was so frightened. I think she needs a couple of days off to calm her whole body amd mind down.

Thanks for caring

Linda

Pleased that your DiL came home OK, but a shock for the poor girl to be rushed back in. I guess she will have to be ultra careful after having a bad reaction like that and the 'pen' is a good idea. I hope she is now recovering from the ordeal. And also her poor friend, I hope that they can save her thumb.

Hi Julie Ann,

She is feeling much better today but we have persuaded her to have tomorrow off as well...and then see how she feels. We've all checked out the epi-pen and are all o.k. about how to use it. Richard is a paramedic anyway so he showed us.

Not sure what is happening with her friends thumb yet. Will know more tomorrow.

Have been at the hospital again today. OH fell in the bath (he WAS sober) lol and has damaged his middle finger quite badly. Has got a splint on it and has appointment at the fracture clinic on Thursday morning. It never rains but it pours

I have been a right little Florence Nightingale this week.

Thanks for asking.
