On dermatologists advice, have started wearing stockings again. Had forgotten how uncomfotable they are! Have tried hold-ups, but the ones I bought would not stay up after the 2nd wash, so didnt try again. Maybe they were too cheap! Anyonr tried the tights that imitate a supender belt? Would like to know if they are any more comfortable. Going to have to buy longer leg pantees to fill the gap at the top!

Is it not true that if a woman wears tights and breaks wind her ankles swell up :)

In the days before tights were 'invented' I had great problems with stockings. They were never long enough, or the suspenders were too short or a combo of both. They just would not reach together properly for me. I must have extra long legs and also the lower half of my body.

Tights have been no better. For my daughters wedding I wore one pair and took a spare pair of a different brand. When the first pair laddered early on I went and put on the spare pair but could not pull them right up. The crotch came half way between my knees and where it should have been. Most uncomfortable. I decided to dispense with them altogether. Winter is great, as others have mentioned you can wear trousers and socks. In summer I dont always bother with anything apart from the shoes, unless I wear a longish skirt and knee-highs, but not good for the circulation.

I really am the weirdest shape. My boobs come down to my waist. I prefer to say I am high waisted. Well I must be. When I used to make dresses I always had to shorten the bodice by an inch or more. A neighbour had the same bust size as me but she was much shorter. She always had to raise the side bust dart by 1&half inches while I had to lower it by that much. She couldnt wear low necklines as they showed so much cleavage she was embarrassed, but I could wear low necklines. Cant now as my neck is so wrinkled!

Oh, to have a 'perfect' shape. Even shoes are a problem. I can never get any that are a good fit. How I wish my gt grandfather and his dad were still alive. They could have made shoes to fit me.

I hate tights .... either legs are too long or short. I end up with the crotch down by my knees or wrinkes like Nora Batty !

Stockings with suspenders .... too uncomfortable

I detest pop socks.

Hold up stockings .... wonderful !!!

I wear socks with trousers/jeans in the winter and go bare legged on summer. Hold ups with skirts/dresses in winter and bare legged in summer.

With support tights, I found a good fit and they last a long time. Have worn some of mine for at least ayear., must look for support hold-ups, it seems.
