Haley, stand back for a minute, look at your daughter, is she sensible, is she mature for her age, what are her friends like, if you feel comfortable about her and her mates, let her go, if not then be the cruel mum, I would be a cruel mum if I didn't feel comfy about it, but get her dad to pick her up maybe with a couple of her mates.x |

Had this worry with my son aged barely 17, over the summer. He wanted to go to see Lincoln Park (no it's not a place) in Milton Keynes. Bearing in mind that we live in the centre of Ireland, me and OH said no............When he thought about it he couldn't afford it, plane/boat tickets, train tickets, accomodation, food and an adult to go with him. |

I agree you have to trust them sometime but 15 is in my opinion too young. |

Parents worry about children, not just these days, but in all ages. Some things never change. |

I think I would be hesitant. Speak to a couple of her close friends and insist that they "stay together" the whole time...even if it means going to the loo together. And remind her never to let her drink out of her sight or accept a drink from someone she don't know. |

Will let you know - she's been to the Academy several times, all has been OK, it's the transport home tsituation that has been the imost important thing |

PS Hayley, didn't do a proper sentence/explanation there 'cause I got a headache, only mentioned my daughter's birthday 'cause she's off to Blackpool the day before her 18th to see the Mighty Boosh. Tickets in Manchester were sold out in minutes |

I felt exactly the same when my daughter started going to gigs in Manchester, but she was with a good group of friends, and I had all their mobile numbers. |
