that was one of the worst things I had to do. I remember sobbing and trying to pay the receptionist. couldnt find the money through the tears.
Best wishes

We had to do that in February - both hubby and I cried buckets - in actual fact we still do.
But you did the kindest thing for your dog who is now pain free.
Take care

Sorry about your very sad news ......

But you gave a little dog a lovely home and many many years of happiness and fun. As we all know this is inportant for animals as it is for humans,if you hadnt gone to the rescue center that day that little dog may not have had as much love as you have give.

If only there were more people like you. Who take on a homeless dog

I know the house will be quiet for some time to come but please settle on the fact that you did such a kindness for that dog .

take care

I cried like a baby as well and I thought I'd got over the death of our dog a few months ago but it's bought tears to my eyes typing this.

Being an ex fireman I know a bit of first aid and our little Cavalier dropped dead in front of me, I gave him mouth to nose CPR and I actually got him back but only for a few minutes, he died in my arms.

I feel really sorry for you mate.

Hi McB, I'm sorry. I agree with all the other comments. We have 3 dogs, all of whom we 'rescued', and we will be devastated when they die.

Grieve and have some time. You know you did the right thing. Then, after a few months, go to a dogs' home.. and see what takes your fancy. A dog is for life, whether that life is yours or theirs. Be happy.

I so so feel for you doll

I had to make that decision a year back and still not over my man

but you said earlier you can't have another dog for reasons, do what I do, dog sit! We can't can another dog on full time but I really hate the thought of dogs going in kennels when peeps go on holiday

5 week back had a Border Collie for a week, she was lovely (not a patch on my man though lol)

Today Sally, english Bull went home, ugly but what a character!

next month we have a German Shepherd pup for 2 weeks

I walk the old walks and chat again to dog owners I haven't seen for a year, it's been brill

a thought maybe?

take care

Kim
