Cumbrian Caz~**~ Report 13 Sep 2008 14:23

I have had a nasty bout of this. I dont usually suffer with chest problems but have been told it could have been triggered by sinusitus.

Have others on here had it? ive had 12 amoxicyllin tablets now and it doesnt seem to lifting. How long can I expect them to take to work?

Thanks,

Caz xx

Caz,
With all your stress you have had I am not surprised that you have been very poorly, I was hospitalized with it many years ago. So you must take care of yourself.

Sending you hugs and love and support.

The cough can take several weeks to disappear after the antibiotics have finished but if you still have a temp or feel ill go back to docs as they may need to give you different antibiotics. Also while taking antibiotics your breathing might feel worse as it does with me and improves once I have finished the course.

Hi Caz,

Sorry you are poorly with this. I have only had one bout and it took me 12 weeks to recover

:-(( Someone was inserting a energy sucking tube into my vitals every day and leaving me exhausted..lol

I hope the meds kick in soon as you start to feel better.

Love Sue xx

You need to get some steroid tablets from doctors.the tiny ones, you take 6 every morning for 5 days. It soon clears up after that.
I've had this, it's horrible. Am suffering from bad cough myself at moment, hope to get to doctors on monday.

Don't forget the vick on your soles of your feet and socks on, before going to bed, it helps ease coughs so could help a bit Caz.
Hope you feel better soon,

If the anti-biotics don,t work for me, steroids are the answer - as mentioned overleaf tiny 6 a day prednisolone, taken all at once.
All sounds a trifle asthmatic to me, possibly caused by an earlier infection.
(goose grease, or the thought of it, should make you get better more quickly).
Happy days

Hiya Joy,

Thanks for asking. I have been put on a stronger antibiotic. It seems to have eased a little, but not much. I dont get ill often but this has really knocked me, I think my immune system needs a boost.
