You've just got bored with it.........Try some new recipes. I seldom use the same one twice. I have three friends and we go around each others for a meal. We all love food and experiment on the gang........we are all still alive.......lol

I did see the celeb one Helen. It was really good. It must have been fun hearing about it firsthand Frances........I would love to go on that. I love entertaining. My biggest problem would be cleaning the house...................lol

My neighbour was one of the contestants recently. She did really well, but came second. It was interesting to hear what she had to say about the filming etc. and we enjoyed peeping out of the window as the other guests arrived in their taxis - we saw the roof of our house too, lol.

I like it too. Have you seen the Celebrity ones? My favourite was Aggie from "How Clean is your House" and everyone went round checking for dust!! (Good job they weren't here.)

One of my favourite programmes..............and I did see the one with the pigs trotters or "crubeens" as we call them over here. Didn't like the look of those ones but I have eaten them many years ago and they were quite nice. My taste may have changed since then though............lol

PIGS TROTTERS MY FOOT

Julia

Julia Report 4 Sep 2008 17:20

Julie - I saw rhe one with the pigs trotters. They are positively evil, and must be an acquired taste.
Just after the war, me mam used to get these from the butcher, probably for free or 1 old penny. She used to boil them for stock to make soup, and was probably the nearest thing we saw to meat in those days. Then she took them out of the pan and threw them away, and added diced veg. and soaked peas. You added a good blob of H.P. Sauce and with a hunk of bread, and it was our main meal. It was so thick, you practically had to cut it with a knife.

i really like this programme. Best bit is the guy with the sarcastic voice overs, always makes me chuckle.

I watch it on Sundays where I can watch all weeks in about 2 hours.

I presume they are interviewed beforehand although sometimes I wander!

Once I saw someone making pavlova - I think she tried to do the meringue 3 times - ran out eggs - went to the shops & forgot she had put the oven on with another meringue in!!!!

nice one Joy, reminds me of the women (she was a dinner lady) who served up ice cream (not homemade) with crushed maltesers (not homemade)and stuck squirty cream on top (you know that horrible gear in a can)........Pippa the bunnybolier was in that one, she was NOT amused!!!

Julie, thankfully I missed that one!!

Julia

Julia Report 4 Sep 2008 15:50

Whirley - Try to catch this on a Sunday evening, and thoroughly enjoy it. I don't like it when the other guests go upstairs and rummage through the host/hostesses personal things. Wouldn't like them going thru' me knicker drawer. Even OH not allowed to do that, but then again, don't think he knows which one it is. I think the voting can be very tactical sometimes, even seen people knock a point off before the results are given. You can get the recipes off Channel 4 Food site
