Janet 693215 Report 1 Sep 2008 21:09

Of course smoking is banned in the workplace. The lackey had gone for the fag 15 minutes earlier and because of tthe policy he'd had to go two blocks away so as not to polute the car drivers lungs with pre filtered smoke emanating from his lungs. (Unlike the vehicles whose catalytic converters don't remove the carcinogenic particulate because no one drives far enough for them to get to operating temperature)

Sorry bit off topic but catalytic converters are the only thing I agreed with Margaret Thatcher about.

It always takes longer while WDYTYA is running..

Leave it until a few weeks after the end of the series, it'll speed up then.

Bear in mind Bev, there is a limited number of staff dealing with not a few requests, but thousands of requests every day

To be honest, you should be pleased if it takes only a week. I've rarely waited less than a fortnight, sometime four weeks (when WDYTYA first started though)

Bev it might be worth your while trying for certs at the nearest register office to the one you are looking for, it might be a bit faster and sometimes cheaper. Make sure they do copies though, and not typed copies.

LOL, gave me a good titter. I know what it's like a week can seem *so* long.

And of course the DoVE project and MAGPIE have both been horrifically delayed with no known date for planned completion (if ever). The contractors responsible for actioning DoVE reached the end of their contract and it hasn't been renewed (by mutual agreement or some such politically correct nonsense - nothing to do with them already having been a year late or anything).
