Has anyone noticed that the site has been slow this last couple of days???

And that a lot of people who have tried to change their names...... have been unable to...

although some have been able to change to someone else's name very easily (please see Shimmer's thread on chat)

I wonder if the boards are being tweaked again to help prevent some of the id probs recently??

I know that on other sites, you have to have permission to change your name... but you can change your mood by changing your avatar.

And finally.... seeing as how I have a thread ready and waiting...

why is it that I purchased 8 M & S fairtrade Tee-shirts all in the same size but different colours... 5 of them fit a treat.... 3 are much too tight ;¬((

Off out to buy those last minute essentials for a girl to cut a dash at a posh wedding, lolol

See you all later.

Probably the dye colour Daff - it must shrink em up! (or else they have shrunk whilst in the wardrobe - that happens to me all the time!)

all different colours I think Bev!!! I do things like that - I think they call it predictability in my case (and saves another trip to the shops!) lol

Bev, believe me.... She did!

Which colours are tighter Daff? Out of interest.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 28 Aug 2008 12:22

lol Bev.... Jac is almost right... they are the basic short sleeved scoop necked tee's that can be worn on their own in summer or under a jumper/blouse/jacket in the winter. I buy in bulk when I can find the right size.

The problem here is that they have all been brand new (I bought them when I was in Cheltenham with Ann in Glos a couple of weeks ago) I bought 2 black and 2 white... and one of each is too small!! I wanted to wear the navy one today.... and it is too small, too. Grrrrr!!

There was a time when you knew in M & S that if one item fitted, then all items in that range would, too.

I hate trying on in the shops, too!!

*sighs* I don't know about Per Una Jac... I know that a size whatever their largest is will never fit me, lololol

I have tried to squeeze in, believe you me, !! I do so love the styles.

Wallis sizes are fab - you always need a size smaller than usual.

The site does seem very slow today.

Fingers crossed that GR are finally going to stop people changing their names which has caused so many problems in the past.

more to the question, how comes i could purchase a fair trade tee shirt for £1.50 from a high street shop.....how fair is that exactly?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Aug 2008 12:34

It is since they were made abroad wherever, their sizes vary a lot. I assume you have not still got the bill Daff? Take the small ones back and complain bitterly about the variation in sizes. If you haven't got the bill you will have to accept an exchange for something else I think, unless you are prepared to push it.

MrDaff Report 28 Aug 2008 12:34

lolol Gwynne... Wallis never seem to have my size in there, either!!

Webster, I don't know the answer to that, I'm sorry... it does seem strange though, doesn't it?

edit: I suppose that as long as the fair trade price has been received by the initial trader/grower that is what matters... if the endmarketer wants to lose on it then that is fine.

Another thought..... Fairtrade is becoming a big seller... maybe they are now being counterfeited too?

Hi Ann... yep, I still have the reciept... but I also have a lingering spark of hope that I might fit into it (and the lovely red top which is also too small) next summer, lolol

*sighs again*

Gwynne, it would be a huge bonus, wouldn't it? If that is going to be the case, I don't think I will be able to bring Peace on Earth back with the Christmas decorations though, which would be sad.

That's true, Daff, but a small price to pay to eliminate deceit.

Or perhaps a 24 hour delay before your name changed.

Daff......give up on the imponderable one......stretched the brain cell with a political viewpoint on another thread, and now I am done for.....no views, just air space.....lol....

As for the t-shirts, now Daff I have offered to run off a couple for you from my spare Egyptian cotton sheets.......cheaper than M & Sp.......x

ann
I think avatar is another name for the photo or picture that appears by your name on some sites such as facebook, Family Tree Forum etc.
