Great to hear the wedding stories, so funny......mine all went to plan, so nothing to tell.....

Did say obey though, a bit traditional like that......but I was, and always will be my own person......lol...

Jac....that reminded me......going through my Mum's things 12 years ago I found a brown paper bag, and inside the white satin stilletos I wore,in 1965...

Jac Report 25 Aug 2008 16:29

I honestly cannot remember if I did say "obey", as I was totally convinced I had left the price of my shoes on the sole of the satin beggers that were pinching me toes, and was concentrating on that at the time! )))))

Just asked hubbie, and he says "no I didnt -cos I had no intention of keeping that vow, so why say it in the first place"!!

He knows me so well! lol

1960, I didn't promise to obey, that was quite unusual then. Just as well as I have no promise to break!!

In 1967 I said I'd obey... I lied.

Still married and still not obeying.

Ooo definitely didn't obey - neither did he!! LOL
We loved, honoured and cherished - unfortunately he cherished someone other than me!!

MrDaff Report 25 Aug 2008 11:17

*hangs head in shame* I said *obey* lol!!

I was a biddable 17 year old... I didn't realise you didn't have to say it, lololol

When we renewed, I didn't..... but as we had already been married 28 years at that point, and I had broken that particular vow on a very regular basis, I did wonder whether to keep it in, just so I could feel like a rebel every time I broke it, lolol

No I didn't obey .......... though I can't remember the majority of the ceremony either as OH and I kept getting fits of the giggles.
We got married in Vegas and I think the *done thing* was to be overcome with emotion and burst into tears so our laughter really didn't go down to well.......oopsie lol x

i think they knocked off the obey bit on the vows, i dont member,
i think it was love and to cherish,
well i always deny the obey bit
no way will i obey,
tut,
i went down the isle in lovely white lace frilly dress,
the waist just came above the bump and the skirt frilled out so i could rest my hands on the dress, without it showing,
photographers wife worked in anti natal unbeknown to me, and kept saying in loud voice, dont i know you ,
sister in law wispers to me she works in anti natal,

i had to behave mam would of flattened me if id said owt
