Hi Kay.... I saw a couple in the first series..... horrendous! One of them definitely had a compulsive disorder..... but that was turned around and I suspect he became compulsive about cleaning!!

I have been in some dreadful homes!! And those down to laziness, I have to say........

One of them, the teacher and myself went straight upstairs to the residential area when we got back, stripped off and showered... I threw all my clothes away, including my undies... fortunately I always kept spare (I worked in a Residential school at the time) and yep..... we both got nits anyway, lol.... the only time I have ever had them!

I shudder when I think of it!

Yes - I'm downright lazy!! My gran was a hoarder (and I swear it's hereditary - maybe skipping a generation) - hence I have her home made wedding dress, and all the letters between her and my grandad. Took us ages to clear her bungalow out.
I watch the programme so I can think 'not that bad' - yet!
However, I decorate regularly and all cobwebs are cleared then.
Once my daughter & her fiance have gone I will have a good clear out & clean up - not much point at the mo, when I wash the floor and 5 minutes later he's spilt tea over it and left it!!!

Blue eyes... I know just what you mean.... my towels, teatowels and bedding are folded very precisely, and have to be crease free and in a specific order..... but the rest of the house can be in total disarray.

Cept the loo.... I like a clean loo!

I used to have a weird foible, I had spotless tidy drawers and cupboard, but the rooms were untidy.

Now it's untidy in and out...lol

lol Kay... that doesn't mean they are *normal*!!

I know people who have aspergers who hold down very responsible jobs in similar fields... but are hoarders and can't bear to throw anything away... they also don't *see* dirt and filth the same way most people do. But they are wizards at their jobs!

But there are also folk who are just downright lazy.

*glances at cobwebs on ceiling*

Maz,

We had a chap die 18 months or so ago and the body could not be retrieved because of all the hoarding in the house.

Others don't see what is around them. It's their choice to live like that and unless they become a health hazard to their neighbours there is nothing that can be done.

Stories I could tell..lol but won't because I think these people deserve understanding and pity.
