Well Angie M the rest of the mob went health fanatic on me and smoking outside is ok with company but alone .
There was a time when I had so much nicotine chewing gum stuffed into my gob I could nearly not talk.swallowed the muck to get an extra kick. Yep I wasn't an happy Troll I swore in four languages but it sort of got better after two weeks but it was over a year before that why not a fag feeling went away.
Think that it is becoming a health fanatics world, why do they want us to live longer when they wouldn't be able to pay all the pensions

OMGG....I am totally in agreement with the workplace smoking ban, including the pub ban but to fine you for smoking in your personal car..............well that beggars belief..

Why did they think it was a 'work place'? Did you say you were on you way too or from work...? Talk about lunatics running the asylum....absolutely crazy..

love T.x

Anyone who has passed through an airport knows just how given a little power over other people can go to some peoples heads.
Now they are on the roads as well. But it is a bit like doing a good thing to the extremes that it no longer is so good
Who controls the controlers wonder if any ministers have been done for smoking in their cars which per definition are work places.

Terry

Terry Report 6 Aug 2008 00:42

Yep I expected that! Here in Norway they hadn't realized what they'd done until they found out that they the servants of public for once had subjected themselves to same rules as the rest of us, they nearly peed themselves with fright.
Idont smoke being in a family of health fanatics, but I must say giving up was awfully hard and if there had been another smoker in the house it wouldn't have happened.

Terry Report 6 Aug 2008 09:41

True Colin whilst 99# of all police or enforcers of rules and regulations are OK the other 1# are to say the least very rule concious
AND AS WAS POINTED OUT HOW COME THE hOUSES OF parliament have exception for the smoking bann? Bet the exception also covers Ministers'official cars
As you say rules are made by politicians, and they dont read what the contents are just that it looks good at the time

The House of Commons bar is a private members only club...............they are exempt from the ban.

I dont Smoke either but honestly!! you would think there would be some old fashioned common sense with this law, wouldnt you!!

In Spain they have it just right in my opinion, there are places for Smokers and non-smokers,restaurants can opt to be either!
Places like Airports and such like are no-smoking,but there is a smoking area for people who are flying,I think its far more civilized.
The Police dont give a hoot!there more concerned with the criminals and drunken brawls than someone having a ciggerette,Infact ive sen a few having a ciggie in their cars:-)))

Terry

Terry Report 6 Aug 2008 13:10

But why can't ordinary firms have the like? Seems a bit of one rule for you and a private members bar for us
