Amanda,

He is much better thank you..It was very weird as we have lots of "creepy crawlies" out our way and this is not the first time that either of us have been bitten...

What looked like a mosquito bite turned into a terrible itchy rash and ten times as big a couple of hours later.

I gave up tanning 25 years ago - too dangerous here,
with holes in the ozone layer & the highest skin cancer rate in the world.
But the damage was already done in my reckless teens.

I have a bit of colour but only sat out one afternoon on holiday and one afternoon here a few weeks ago, haven't been out much this week and my legs are still like milk bottles lol.
Used to be silly and sit out a lot especially on holiday, even used oil and vinegar once instead of sun oil lol, heck, we stank!

Am a bit more sensible now and have a lot of freckles and moles so watch those carefully.

I can't believe parents who don't cover their children up, best to put them in teeshirts to protect their shoulders and backs. I have seen a lot of lobsters walking around, stupid I think considering the publicity skin cancer and sunburn connection has had and still has.

I was told before I went to Malta last year, when I asked about having a spray tan, not to get one as I wouldn't tan while away in the sun. That was from the tanning shop I was asking at.

I am naturally very pale skinned with a lot of red in my hair so always take a while to get a colour.

Take care everyone. A tan might look good now but an operation and bits cut out of you later on or worse, will cause you to regret your actions.
My o.h.is very pigheaded and never covers up or wears sun protection lotion, his skin is like leather and I wonder if it has had any thing to do with the bleeds he had on his brain, he has been bald for years and never wears a hat in the sun either. He really hates the heat and comes out in blotches all over - it looks like some kind of lurgy lol
Doctors told him it is vitiligo but I have that, with a few white patches that never tan, and his rash isn't like that.

I'm far from being a sun worshipper, but I'm like Rose I have skin that just has to see sun and it tans. . I get my tan every year from just being in the car despite wearing sun cream. I never sun bathe and usually sit in the shade .xx

I tan really easily but I try to avoid the sun these days.

My Mum died of skin cancer.

Lindy - I served out in Aden and then Bahrain in Gulf in late 60s and did a lot of sunbathing. Was checked out a couple of years ago for 'iffy' lump and such lump frozen which caused it to eventually drop off. Was proven to be OK tho. Can't understand people 'frying' themselves and, women in particular should remember later in life sun damage can result in lots of wrinkles!

Hi Hayley

I am half and half lol

Arms legs chest and back are well tanned - arms mostly cos it was rather sunny the 3 weeks i was off sick - but cos i had the cast on my hand, my right arm is a little uneven but the lower part is catching up now lol

The rest is lilly white cos i can't fit into my bikini's anymore - mind you i think the neighbours would no doubt be thankful for that lolol
