Oh dear. It is not nice when it happens to you.

OH killed a cat way back - we were on our way to Portland. On the way back I knew exactly the spot where we had killed it. We could not stop as it was a fast moving road we were travelling at 70mph and a line of traffic behind us. OH said the cat was def. dead, would not have survived.

The cat got us back mind - he broke the oil sump and we had to have it replaced.

Just be glad it wasn't a hedgehog.
Squirrel might be distressing but hedgehog is suicide watch territory.

Not a nice thing to happen, but cant be helped.

Plant some nuts in the garden as a memorial lol.

I'll never forget the day there was a pidgeon on the road,I told my oh to slow down, he said 'oh it will soon move'...I'll never forget that thud and seeing all the feathers flying ;((

Used to hit baby rabbits all the time in Cornwall (not intentionally by the way) OH used to make me stop the car and go and make sure that they had been killed outright - one which had been clipped by the tyre and was alive but badly injured she made me reverse over to put it out of pain....felt awful

Deer can be really bad if you hit one.
You used to see the odd one in winter when they came down from the hills to feed.
Now you see them all the time. Very dangerous for drivers.

Friends in Namibia don't drive at night because kudu (sort of athletic cow things) jump into the road.
