Boy have I had an exciting evening - went to Cardiff late night shopping with my pal, came out of House of Fraser and as we crossed the Hayes Island a man on a bike flashed past and as he passed he threw something through the air - what, I had no idea. Almost immediately a police car arrived, followed by a white police van, plus two other police vehicles came from the opposite direction. They moved in on the cyclist, knocking him to the ground, restrained him and put him in the back of the van, along with his bike. Very interesting I thought - I like watching things like that. I was wondering to myself, should I mention I saw him throw something or will they think I'm a busy body. Decided I would mention it. They were over the moon!!! Where did he throw it - I gestured in the vague direction and they found it - a mobile phone - apparently he had stolen it from a girl in the park and had pulled a knife on her to take it - think he had also taken other things from her too. Made a statement on the spot and then wandered off to make our way home on the train. Walking up Queen Street when someone called my name - turned round, said Police Inspector - Would you very much mind coming to the Central Police Station now and making a statement and we will then give you a lift home!! We can get it all tied up tonight then. So off we went, I made my statement, we were given cups of tea and driven home in style. I have agreed to be a witness in court if needs be. There wasn't much on the TV tonight anyway - a very enjoyable evening all round.

well known to the police apparently - they had followed his movements through the CCTV cameras around town and that's how they all converged at the same place!! He wasn't a youngster either - about 25 years old - I do hope I get to go to court!!!!

will do, but with all that goes on it probably won't get in the papers - I dreamed about maybe getting a medal - you know - up to Buck House and all that, but I don't really want the publicity - the Police Inspector was a dish if a little short in the leg - my kind of guy!! Bet none of the neighbours saw us being dropped off - sod's law innit!!!!

Did Teddy get to see all this from the museum window?

I'm fine Joy - I really enjoyed it if I'm honest - my pal has a bad foot and she was just interested in getting to a seat for a sit down, but I was totally fascinated with what was going on - a bit of rubber-necking you know!!! My life is fairly boring to say the least and now I have something to bore people witless with!!

You know Claire, it was right next to the old library [as you well know] and I thought about him as I passed - in fact I thought about him when the pub caught fire in the week - so close to my Ted. He must have heard it all though

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 5 Jun 2008 23:03

I bet he missed it all, Claire... shut away in the dark, at night, in the museum... while Ann was there in the middle of town on the Hayes... gallivanting and consorting with known criminals and police inspectors with little legs (in my day they were 9 ft tall, policemen, lol)

tsk... what will she get up to next?? ;¬)))

Stray - they were very tasty indeed!!! Now don't go upsetting me Daff, poor Ted has never been away from me in his life before - like me he's 72 later this month and has led a very sheltered sedate and innocent life, just like me - the thought of him alone at night is troubling!!!
