yesterday was my birthday

and i got lots of loverly gifts and cards

but one of my gifts was a fishing rod

its a very nice fishing rod BUT

I think you are lucky!
I had to buy myself a bog-standard beginner's rod, but have never actually gone anywhere to use it yet!
But - it is there as and when.
Just after I got married, my dear BIL gave me a hot water bottle for my birthday, and my beloved bought me a new tyre for the car once - his car!

the only fish i eat

comes battered and piping hot

from the chippie

and is stamped whitby lol

i asked why he got me a fishing rod

and he said

well it was the only thing

i knew you never had lol xx

just think me stood

by the riverside holding my very fine rod

wearing my best stilettos

i think not lol

when iwas 11 i got a lovely pressie (can't actually remember what it was now!!!) but it came in a box for a fish pump.

It was from a good friend of mine who had put it in there to make it easier to wrap. i honestly thought i had been given a fish tank pump! - my mum always told me to be gracious for any present i got, you should have seen me trying to be happy about receiving a pump! LOL.

Happy Birthday!

My OH a couple of years ago messed up big time for my birthday. I had asked for the latest version of the Family tree software I use....and for him to cook me my favourite meal for dinner.

Instead he went canoeing with his friends, rang me at 9pm to say he was in the supermarket buying the bits for my 'favourite meal' and would be home in an hour....

When he arrived home I was fuming - and to top it off - no software, but instead - the game Operation and a big pink glittery hula hoop that plays music.... I believe my words without the expletives boiled down to me telling him I wasn't 5 years old and that I had always been and continue to be rubbish at hula-hooping....

I have a wish list at Amazon so everyone knows what I want for my birthday.......I always get great pressies lol.

Can I put an order please for a large Salmon, once you start using your rod? OH has a pair of waders that don't fit him if you're interested??? lol xx

so if i go night fishing in my best stilettos

he said cast my rod out

and tell old prokey boy

im going the loo

and nip in the night club for a few drinks
