We didn't have any hymns at my mums 4 weeks ago. We had some lovely Irish music to bring her in and When Irish eyes are smiling to say farewell. It was lovely. |

we had "how great thou art" for mum last year,i dunno, personal choice, what about something you remember her singing to you or something she sang around the house that reminds you of her, it really is such a personal thing, something that will comfort you maybe, take care and dont get worried about it,im sure whatever you choose will be perfect, take care Marilyn,x |

Another idea would be to speak to mum's siblings (if any) or cousins and her friends, to see if they have any ideas of her favourite music and hymns. |

My Mum passed away 2 years ago. She loved Amazing Grace so we had that, plus The Fields of Athenry, she was originally from Ireland. I wrote a small history of her life and the priest read it at the service. |

Marilyn, the priest should come aound and have a chat with you, regarding the service, and what you think is appropriate and what YOU want( dont be bullied! cos some of them are fire and brimstone!!, others are more modern thinking) |

We got a lot of help from the undertakers/vicar when Mum died last year. They had lists of hymns/suitable songs/readings |

I had to decide upon hymns for my sister's funeral, not an easy thing to do. I looked at various sites to get ideas that would please the majority like this one: |
