Nick says...

See if there are any free updated versions of the anti virus,
Make sure windows vista is up to date using windows update,
Right click on the programme you are using in vista and choose ' Run as administrator' and click continue.

If you are really stuck pm me as he has another idea,

wmsl at everyone.... Caz, thank your lovely son for me!! I know all the updates were up to date, as that is what was happening yesterday, when it all went haywire!

I think I now have it sorted... I disconnected everything... including the hub, lol!! I then left it for a few minutes, had a cuppa, and then switched on and plugged everything back in... this time it still had all the klaxons blaring, but it let me re-run an update... once that was done, I went through all the scans... including a rootkit scan.. and all seems to be well now!!

So, the switching off and on, along with the threat of drenching said pc with the cold cup of tea on my desk, seems to have worked!!

I have also remembered something very vital... I had a plasterer in yesterday.... he disconnected my electric a couple of times, at least three or four..... it is possible that this is why it wouldn't work!! He probably disconnected at a time I was having an automatic update (all my Kaspersky updates are on automatic so I never know when they are going to happen).

So I am one very happy little bunny!

Thank you Eldrick...... and thank you Taff for the translation!!

Mwah!

And thank you Caz's son Nick as well, xxx

Love
